When my children were small, i used to take them there. They love tasting the fruit. Seeing the farmers with their crops. Talking to them, asking questions, getting info for projects at school. All the beauty is gone. We came by Wed. I can honestly say, i wont be going back. The personality of farmers market is no more. We had been going there for 25 yrs. Farmers market is no more..
Disappointed....obviously I'm not the only person who feels that way so that's all I'll say and more than likely wont be back...over priced fruits n veggies .... I'll just go to Sprouts or just make a drive to Weatherford to their farmers market
I literally cried when I went looking for The Farmer's Market I have enjoyed since I was a kid. I hate this commercialized " so call Farmer's Market"
I liked the restaurant options we have now and there are some decent vendors purveying various goods. But frankly quit calling it a Farmers Market. Very few farmers with limited produce. We used to go every week and would buy the majority of our produce there. We just left empty-handed but with a full stomach from a very good brunch at Mudhen. We couldn't even find decent tomatoes and instead trudged off to Whole Foods for the veggies we needed. We will continue to visit for brunch and the atmosphere but to call this... read more
I can remember when there were alot of produce vendors, there aren't many produce stands there...it was a huge disappointment to me and my family
Having grown up in Dallas for 21 years and watching the city grow and expand from various angles, I've seen a lot of change. As a kid I went to the farmers market every Saturday with my whole family. It was always packed with people and families. After visiting it today I am broken hearted and disgusted and the place that it has become. I study and work in the world of sustainability and locally sourced goods. I understand the motive but your interpretation is very unoriginal, uncultured, pompous and dry. Sustainability is ... read more
If you want to find overpriced dog shampoo, candles, etc this is your spot.....don't go expecting any Farmers.....cause they aren't there. They've been run off by the young & the hip people that crowd the space. They made it shiny and new yes.....but with the changes made they ran off the greatness that once was the Dallas Farmers Market.
When I was a kid, in the late 70's through the 80's there was actual farmers at that market. I know cause my family was farmers, we would pick our tomatoes in the evening, then leave early at 3am, an headed to farmers market. I think that the changes that you have made have run the true farmer out...
Total disappointment. What happened to the fresh fruits and veggies? The shed is filled with specialty vendors and pre prepared food. Folks go for produce. Yesterday there was no fruit anywhere in the shed and only about 2 vendors that had any produce what so ever. The renovations and the Market is nice, but they have lost the entire concept of the farmers market. You can't have a farmers market without the farmers. Thankfully other cities like Plano and McKinney have real farmers markets.
Dallas Farmers Market has a 4.5 star rating with 10,108 reviews.
Dallas Farmers Market is open now. It will close at 7:00 p.m.
