TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The chicken is delicious. The seasoning makes it all come together. The fries are delicious.

***WARNING*** 'Dave's Hot Chicken' is NOT joking. This HURTS. First your mouth, then your stomach, then ....elsewhere (hint: ). I also don't even know how the outside of my mouth hurt in places I don't think the chicken even touched. But let me tell you, it's DELICIOUS. 10/10 will be eating here again. HOWEVER, NEVER will I ever do "Reaper" again. It is APTLY named, I kind of want to die, and maybe would rather die than do this again! I want to reiterate though, DELICIOUS. Stopped in for lunch for our first visit and enjoyed it for the most part. We walked in about 5 minutes after they opened and it seemed like they were quite ready, so our food took a little bit of time but we weren't in a rush. We both went with the #2 combo which was 2 sliders and fries. It didn't include a drink which seemed odd but an easy way for them to get more money. The sliders weren't that small for having 2 in the order but we still finished it all. I wasn't super excited about a Kale Slaw being on the slider but ... read more
