TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I ordered hot this time and it kicked my butt literally. Too spicy for me and my stomach. Will try medium next time. The chicken is amazing tho. Crispy outside, completely tender inside.

Not consistent with quality/flavor First time I had it I thought it was reaaaaally good, but last night each bite I had made me not want to keep taking bites--it wasn't horrible but it just wasn't appetizing. I can't pinpoint what exactly it is about the meal that wasn't good last night--maybe it was the chicken being being cooked well (was cooked all the way but texture wasn't right) or the flavor. I love this location. One of the highlights of my visits to Dave's Hot Chicken is encountering Janeli at the cashier. Her sweet demeanor and genuine warmth always make me feel welcomed. I've also noticed that the kitchen consistently does an excellent job of preparing my food. I always get the #2 extra hot spice and its always great. Definitely a place you should try out

Dave's saves the day. Or night in this case. After a long flight and an issue at rental car we went to a taco food truck that was suppose to be 3 min from airport. We could not find it, Yelp and IG couldn't find the location either. We just decided to go Dave's since they're open late. The food came out hot and fast. We got medium spice so not too spicy. Turn up the heat! By far the best chicken sandwich in town! I haven't had a chance to have the Reaper hot, but the second hottest is absolutely addictive. They put this awesome slaw and delicious pickle slices on it. The staff have great attitudes and are very genuine with their service. Boom! Goodbye Chick-fil-A!

Food is good overall. Chicken tenders and sandwiches are delicious! Fries are seasoned and are quite crispy for being crinkle cut, and the pickles are a nice touch, while the Dave's sauce compliments the chicken well. I found there to be a very big difference between the Medium and Hot spice levels -- Hot is much more spicy than Medium which is very tame. The Mac n Cheese is mediocre.
