About this business

TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I was excited to try this place because I love a good fried chicken sandwich and I'd heard some hype. I ended up thinking it was just okay. The chicken was nice and moist but surprisingly flavorless given the thick spice rub coating it. Now, I'm sure connoisseurs will tell me that's my fault because I ordered only a medium spice level, but you can have savory flavor without a crazy amount of heat! If you're going to have a weirdly thick spice coating, put something tasty in there! Even at the medium or mild spice levels. F... read more

Been going here for a quick meal after work. Always get the #4 combo and it was pretty good. The chicken was juicy but the spicy was less spicy than usual (thought they gave me a mild). The fries were also a bit bland this time around. The service is always quick so that's a plus for me.

First time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and it was ok. I have had Nashville hot chicken sandwiches before and this one fell short. Ordered the #4 combo which was the traditional sandwich, fries, and drink- it also came with a cup of Dave's sauce and extra pickles, which was appreciated. You can pick your spice level on the chicken and I chose medium. Medium is usually where I top out because I am a bit of a wimp, but there was no heat at all to mine. Also, the first bite of the sandwich was lukewarm, which was disappointing. Th... read more

Tried the chicken slider for the first time tonight, and have to admit this was one of the top 3 hot chicken sandwiches I've tried anywhere in the country. I got the hot, which if you've had Princes or Hattie b's hot level before it's the same. I followed one of the other yelp reviewers instructions and got the slider with cheese, sauce, and honey and it was pretty epic. The sauce tamed the heat, and the honey added depth to the tangy spicy sandwich. Delivery took a while, but I subbed the Mac n cheese instead of fries, so i... read more

I've only tried their chicken sandwich meal (Dave's #4) in Mild and that was enough spice for me because I can't really handle spicy food. The chicken was good, flavorful and juicy. It's actually a pretty big sandwich considering it's called a slider. I was definitely full from it without eating all the fries and finishing my drink. I ordered it to go and the sandwich was still good after 15 min. There are lots of tables inside but it does feel a little cramped. The staff was friendly and patient when I was trying to figure ... read more

The chicken was moist and they offer a wide selection of the spice level. It's okay to take your friends who can't handle spice here. I think the two tender route is the best route to go. Maybe as I get older, I need less carbs from the slider buns. You still get fries. Fries gets better as you age.

There's a couple of these locations in the city now and I'm glad to say that the quality is pretty consistent throughout all the locations. The slider is pretty perfect here. Good bun, nice pickles and slaw, and last but not least, the huge tender that's actually not dry and pretty flavorful all throughout. I usually go for spicy or extra hot if I want to be in pain haha. It's really the perfect lunch or snack in the winter too if you want to heat up a bit.

A must if your craving something savory and spicy. Dave's hot chicken was delicious. Food came out super fast and hot. My boyfriend and I got the "hot" chicken. I was a little nervous to get the reaper, since I wasn't sure how hot it would be. The chicken itself was huge, don't be fooled by the size. Both meals came with a sauce which reminded me of a in and out sauce. It was good and will definitely have it again. It's also halal if anyone is wondering.
