I've tried Dave's Hot Chicken before and thought it was decent--good enough for me to give it another shot. Overall, the experience was solid, with a few hits and a few misses. The chicken itself is pretty standard--what you'd expect from a chicken tender spot. I ordered the mild spice level, which wasn't spicy at all. It was more colorful than flavorful when it came to heat, so if you actually want spice, I'd recommend going up a level or two. The fries are basic crinkle-cut, nothing out of the ordinary. Got an order to go we as my husband and I go to Dave's in nearly every state we stop in CA,FL,CO ect.... Food as always was great service was also amazing ..... over friendly . I would give them 0 stars if this was solely based on my husband just trying to get out the door without getting hit on. they literally yelled out of the door and it was funny and we laughed ,because I don't blame them ...but also unprofessional . WE will be back for food not company!

First time at Dave's Hot Chicken and we were blown away! From the moment we walked in, we were met with an energy that was both inviting and exciting, setting the tone! My lady and I had an incredible experience, made even better by Kiara's amazing customer service. She was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helped us choose the perfect spice levels for our first visit. The food was --crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Kiara really made us feel welcome and confident in our choices. We'll definitely be back!

So, I don't get it. It's just chicken tenders. And they are just ok. What's all the hype about this place? The staff was great. The woman who greeted us was nice. Very polite. Welcomed us in and asked if we have even been. That was a welcoming change from most places who don't even ever look at you much less say hi. But that's about where the good ends. Yo, if you're in River North and craving some fire chicken, Dave's Hot Chicken on W Ontario is the move. I copped the #2 combo--two sliders with fries--for about $17, and let me tell you, those sliders were stacked: juicy halal chicken, crunchy pickles, kale slaw, and that signature Dave's sauce all on a soft potato bun.
