I have travelled all over the US and the world trying to fix my patella issues that I have suffered with since I was a teenager. I am in the 30s now and the only doctor that I trust is Dr. Shubin Stein at HSS. She takes a deep and personal interest in my wellbeing and after two surgeries we have a handle on the dislocations and the pain.

This is my third operation with Dr. Shubin Stein. She replaced my ACL in my right knee, cleaned out my meniscus in my left knee, and had done the rotator work by reattaching to tendons. Always the best from consultation to being back at it. I am a long time athlete so I expect a lot, and I am so lucky to have met her 17 years ago.
My left knee started playing up again badly at the end of last year. Dr. Shubin Stein recommended a conservative non-surgical treatment protocol and PT and everything so far has gone great. I am back to biking and swimming and the pain has gone.
Six years ago, Dr. Shubin Stein operated on my right knee and the surgery and rehab were so successful, I was back running half-marathons within the year. Unfortunately, I just tore the meniscus on my other knee, and there was no question in my mind that I would return to Dr. Shubin Stein. Rather than rush me to surgery, she suggested a more conservative approach this time, and we're leaving surgery as a fallback option.
