Wait is ALWAYS to long
2 1/2 mo wait for appt. (had 4 min visit till Dr Leis left the exam room after an 1 1/2 wait to have him not answer my questions) another 7 week wait for surgery, had questions at pre op appt that the Dr didn’t even bother to show up for. Then 3 days prior to surgery, they left me a message saying it was cancelled bc the hospital they booked it at didn’t accept my insurance, saying they would call me w another surgery date. 10/10/19. After waiting 2 1/2 months from when I called to the time I actually got to see Dr Leis, he spent a total of 3 minutes with me (after waiting 1 1/2 in the waiting room) then, the date of surgery was going to take another 7 weeks. My pre-op appt was a 2 weeks prior to surgery. When I went to the appt I had some other questions, Dr Leis was not at this appt, did not come in to answer questions. This was my first visit with Dr. Leis. Everything was going great until he told me that I had to have another Nerve Conduction Test. I tried my best to get out of that one, but at the same time, I'm past ready for some relief. I trust that Dr. Leis will take excellent care of me and my aching hand. But all in all, he presented himself very well. He and I laughed because he made it to the room before the door was "flagged", which made him SUPER quick. I think we'll get along just fine ????
The administration staff were nice, but the two face-to-face interactions I had with Dr. Leis were less than desirable.I felt as though because of my small bone injury, I was treated like a third class patient.I was advised by doctor that I'd need surgery for a pin insertion, but the office never called to schedule.By the time I called to check I was doubtful about surgery and wanted 2nd opinion.More time passed waiting, then it became too late. Blamed me for lack of communication.
My initial appt was one of the worst ever with a dr. After I waited for 1 1/2 hrs (an hr in exam room), he spent less that 5 min with me, much of it telling me how busy he is. If there were another hand specialist in the area, I would definitely not use Dr. Leis.
The wait time to see physician is extraordinarily going to me. on each of three occasions had to wait an excess of 1 hour Beyond appointment time to be seen. In two cases 90 minutes. Very good doctor just wish staff can coordinate wait times in the exam room better. for a patient this can be an eternity
I would NOT recommend Dr Leis at All, for me as a parent, wasn't a pleasant experience. He always made me feel that he was in a rush, so what makes me feel comfortable letting a love one go to surgery under him.. He has no bed manners AT ALL, you would think after practicING this long he would no better. The staff was magnificent & the practitioner was great. I pray my kid never have another injury but if will did I will drive out of state. Fyi, a parent 1st impression is everything.
The staff at Bienville Orthopedic are friendly and professional. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Leis''s capability and expertise in his field, however, he lacks in bedside manners and seems bothered when questioned. My surgery was scheduled in the morning and I ended up waiting 3 hours for him to get to the clinic to begin surgery. If your time is valuable I would not recommend Dr. Leis as he believes his time is more valuable. If this is no concern to you then I would recommend him.
