We are new to the area, found DSAH online, and took our two dogs in for their annual well check this month. Dr. Hudson is so kind and professional. We appreciated the way he interacted with us and our two dogs. Dr. Hudson took the time to answer all of our questions and gave us a lot of helpful and honest information pertaining to our dogs. The office staff and techs were very friendly and helped to make our visit smooth and pleasant. The location is convenient and the facility is well designed with a lot of waiting room spa... read more
I can't say enough about Dr. Hudson and staff. A couple of years ago, my elderly 16-year old mutt Mr. Mole took a sudden turn for the worse. The Austin vet I had been seeing (for years, nonetheless) didn't have time to fit my dying beloved companion into his schedule. Although my pet had never been to see Dr. Hudson, the staff were very responsive and saw me within an hour. Although the outcome ultimately was not what any pet lover wants, I can't say enough about how compassionate Dr. Hudson and his staff were. He is defin... read more
DSAH provides excellent care for our dog. The staff is very friendly and really seem to love what they do. We are always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile and our dog gets a warm and happy greeting each and every time. Dr. Hudson knows his stuff and always takes the time to answer our questions. and we have lots of them! Truly cares about the animals and people he serves. We always get a follow-up call after a visit which means a lot to me - they really do care about our dog and want to make sure treatment is going ... read more
We took in a stray a year ago and Dr. Hudson has been our vet ever since. We moved to Central Austin shortly after but still make the trip out. He is so friendly and caring with our dog who has had some trouble from being on the street. He always has our dogs well being as well as our pocketbooks in mind when helping to find solutions to her needs. We have never felt as if he was just trying to rack a bill on us. His dog-side manner is great. Lucy loves going there and is always treated like the little queen that she i... read more
The place has gone down hill. New there vets are not good and staff has changed after 15 years.. Time to find a new vet!
I took my dog in for a biopsy to check masses on her liver. Later that night, I noticed a large red spot on her belly. I called DSAH and sent photos. They told me it was just bruising, said the biopsy was a minor procedure that couldn't have caused internal bleeding, and told me there was no need to bring her in. But my gut told me something wasn't right -- so I took her to the emergency vet. She was bleeding internally. If I had listened to DSAH and waited, my dog would have died that night. Please think twice before tr... read more

Hi Jacklyn, We’re truly sorry to hear that you felt your concerns weren’t taken seriously and that you had such a distressing experience. We understand how frightening it is when a beloved pet is unwell, and we’re glad your dog received the care she needed and recovered. It’s never our intention to dismiss a pet owner's concerns. We aim to provide thoughtful, thorough care and to communicate clearly — especially when a pet’s health is uncertain. We regret that this wasn’t your experience, and we appreciate the feedback as... read more
One of worst vetarians clinics ever been to. Arrogance and rudeness. Dr. Schumer ignored very high level Emergency Vet. protocol. She exceeds his intelligence. Putting my dog at risk of not resolving underlying condition causing inflammation. I reported a slight cough. Got ignored. His way was a dangerous NSAID.. Could mask underlying condition not diagnosed or make it worse. He overruled the Brilliant E/R vet. and complaining. Uh? So my dog. Is gone out of. care to a new vet. There was no follow up at all. His underlying ... read more
I'm writing this review after using Dripping Springs Animal Hospital (DSAH) for many years. I was pleased and would recommend them highly until my most recent experience with them. I will start by acknowledging that there are no guarantees a pet will live or die when they have an illness or condition like what my dog did. When I took my 10 year old Labrador (Bailey) in for treatment, it was discovered via XRays she had aspiration pneumonia. She was not eating or drinking and was just not herself, hence the reason I brought... read more
Business response:
Mike, I wanted to offer my sincere condolences for the Bailey's passing. I hope you can understand that Bailey's case and her loss was very upsetting to me, as well as Dr. Singleton. There hasn't been a day that has gone by, where I haven't thought about her and what could have been done differently. The majority of cases like Bailey's respond well to the treatment we prescribed and hospitalization can sometimes put undue stress on the patient. The goal of our treatment plan was to provide care that would heal her ailment w... read more
If I could do 0 stars, I would. Apparently this is not the first time Dr. Hudson has stormed out of the room like a child after almost putting my 15 year old dying dog into cardiac arrest. We took two of our dogs in to see him and he was rough with the little that had no teeth and on his last legs as our dog proceeded to freak out and go into distress. We attempted to comfort the dog so Dr. Hudson could complete check up. Before we could get close he proceeded to snatch the dog away jerking him away and yelled that he didn't... read more

My name is Frank Shuman and I am now the current Veterinarian and Medical Director of Dripping Springs Animal Hospital. I would like to inform you that Dr. Hudson has sold Dripping Springs Animal Hospital and will no longer be seeing patients at this facility. I would still like to apologize for the lack of compassion and care that you and your pet received at this facility. It is never acceptable to have such a lack of professionalism especially during such a stressful time. I would like you to know that we have taken even ... read more
