There are many benefits to having a membership at a credit union that banks don't provide. Low rates, payroll deduction for Florida Pre-Paid accounts, points to redeem, scholarships, etc. At EdFed, they provide all these services and more to their members. I have been banking at Ed Fed for several decades and a long time before they rebranded. In fact Mr. Sibley used to come out of his office to greet me when I entered the credit Union. I have only have had positive experiences at the Credit Union. The entire staff from the greeters, the security guards, the tellers and the bank officers go out of their way to be ucourteous and friendly. Wonderful customer service. Everyone is always polite and helpful. We have a checking and savings account at this credit union along with a credit card. Other services we use are a safe deposit box and the notary service. We also use direct deposit. In the past we have taken out loans.
I never understood why the ATM are inside for all their locations this was a huge disadvantage one of the reason I left. dont get me wrong why would put an atm inside the buliding not outside. I would like to shared branch feature to go to different credit union.

If you can avoid doing business with EdFed, avoid it. Their customer service is terrible. A young lady named Maria was very rude to me. She would not help me because she said I was receiving help. She heard my husband, whom I share an account with, helping me answer a question about a check he wrote. For a bank that seems like it's running in the 1970s all their security options are against customers as I have been a victim of fraud with their bank at least seven times. Use a different bank. You'll be happier. I cannot stress enough how frustrating it is to work with EdFed. My mom tried to get them to transfer money over the phone. They said to setup her online account so she can do it that way. Setup the online account and there were problems connecting the banks. Eventually got that resolved and a couple weeks. Tried to do a transfer. Over the Monthly limit. Lower it to the Monthly limit. Over the Weekly limit. Lower it to the Weekly limit. Over the Daily limit. Lower it to the D... read more
