From our list of fave restaurants, we picked Edo to celebrate V-day as we had an amazing experience previously. We can’t say the same this time. We did the tasting menu like before. Great innovative fare that left your pallette demanding more!! Service and hospitality were great and the ambiance was really nice including the fantastic music that echoed through the restaurant during our meal. Great selection. Now because we really seek perfect dining experiences this fell short big time. They Rushed the courses which was really a detriment and basically made this a meal instead of a dining experience. The food was okay at best. Service was nice, ambiance was lacking. The squealing slide door was painful to listen to.
The servers were nice and the drinks were great. The food was just really not good. We were so disappointed. The first 5 courses we had were cold seafood. We enjoyed the caviar egg and the paella thing was pretty good... other than that, the seafood courses mostly tasted the same. Food is great. Tapas place, so obviously small portions, but entrees were small too. Expensive.
Food ok, ambience we created it, it was going well until the waiter rudely told us last call…wait a minute we have not order an entree😳 Then he proceeded to do the opposite still serving others. Terrible let down for sure.
Service was lacking and rushed. Tapas courses was coming out so fast before the prior dish was finished. One plate was provided for 9 tapas. So all of our flavors just mixed together since we had to eat all 9 dishes from the 1 plate provided. 3 people did a tasting menu yet only 2 dishes were served for each course. We did the tasting bar which really was fantastic - we did the add on of caviar and risotto also - our bill was $265 for two people without the tip - Honestly we felt this was way too much money maybe $200 but not $300. The location is relevant to the the price - this location is in a strip mall that is not upmarket. Had the location been more classy that could maybe justify the $300. Like I said great meal/service just too high a price tag.
My husband and I been to EDO many times and the food was always good. On Father's Day I took my husband to dinner and the quality of food was not the same anymore. We are both disappointed.
