I honestly think that is saying a lot in DC. I have rented directly from landlords before and I found working with a real estate agency a much better option. RecommendedHad them as a tenant, had them as a condo owner and board member. They do the bare minimum, they’re unorganized, they’re unresponsive. They were overcharging me for months (the condo fee) and have yet to reimburse me for this. As an experienced property manager, i do not recommend at all. Find a better property manager that will actually care about your property and not overcharge you for their services as well as for mistakes on their part.
I signed my lease and was due to move in October 1st 2021 but was held up by mold and mildew located on the balcony and terrace of the unit which you could smell in the unit. Reached out to the company and after 1 1/2 weeks was told the turnover team would get back to me and it’s now November 1st still no response. To add to my issues I delayed my move in by a month. While I tend to be suspicious of poor reviews, I believe its warranted here. EJF managed my coop association, and employed the most staggeringly incompetent manager. I have evidence that the following things happened, EJF was aware and did not respond appropriately: 1) The property manager routinely entered apartments without notifying residents.
