Hospital was very clean and well staffed.
Dr. Shadduck is amazing! I met with him with complications from gallstones. He told me my options, recommended a cholecystectomy, and explained what it was and what would happen during the procedure. Multiple times gave me room to ask questions. He was very friendly and listened to my concerns. I had the surgery about two weeks later, my first major surgery and it went perfectly. Had pre-op, surgery and post op visits. Took time to address all of my questions and concerns and guide me through my aftercare based on my life and workload so I would have the best recovery.
My appointment was 3/9/23 so glade to see Dr Shadduck. I was referred by Dr Pennington to see him that was the best thing for me. My visit was going very well until he told me that, he was leaving I had to hold back my tears. When you get a doctor that makes you comfortable in your visits you want to stay with them. I am highly satisfied about my experience with Dr. Shadduck and EmergeOrtho! Six weeks ago Dr. Shadduck operated on me to repair a small hernia on the right side of my lower abdomen, called an inguinal hernia. About 15 years ago I had a similar hernia repair on the left lower abdomen (which was done at UNC) and therefore I have some comparative experience. I was very pleased with the visit. Dr Shadduck took enough time to explain the problem and why surgery was not appropriate. Always listen carefully to a surgeon who does not recommend surgery.
My visit was a very pleasant one. Dr. Shadduck was very informative and he knows how to make you feel comfortable so he can get feedback from you.
Dr. Shadduck took a conservative approach to my inguinal hernia. I went through a months-long "watchful waiting" period, until the growth in the hernia became too concerning for me. He agreed that surgery was indicated. He took the time to explain the procedure and alternatives very clearly. We also reviewed the likely recovery and rehab periods.
