I can not say enough great things about Emtek. Give or take eight years ago my wife and I bought our first house and we needed new locks for the house. A local locksmith suggested an Emtek deadbolt and locking knob, it was a bit pricey but I was assured worth every penny. Jump forward to the present the latch starts sticking inside the assembly leaving the door basically open, I am able to pop it out as a temporary fix. Your locks suck. Your customer service is even worse. Had to use a hack saw to cut out latch to open door. Then shortly after I had to get locksmith to replace your deadbolt for $220. Initially when it was only the latch that failed your customer service wanted me to take out entire door handle and ship to you. How am I supposed to close the door and lock when you have my lock. When we originally built out house in 2005 we purchased EMTEK locks for EVERY exterior door in our house. We purchased EMTEK products because at the time they were perceived as a higher end product and we did not want to have future issues. We thought wrong. A year ago we started to have issues with our main door handle. We took it into out local lock smith who said that the inside latch mechanism was worn out. He was able to replace a part, but was not optimistic how long it would last. Not even a year later it failed... read more
