The products are defective. I’ve installed hardware for 17 doors a month ago and ALL of them have been giving trouble. The handles are loose, come off and the privacy lock just doesn’t work. The push pin keeps coming off. The products are so expensive but there is no help from Emtek who simply say to return the defective pieces. I have replaced some of the pieces but they STILL don’t work. Customer service is terrible!! I placed an order on Saturday 12/16. I requested to ship 2nd day air. I called every single day this week to get a status on my order. I was promised an answer by a supervisor and a regional sales manager on 12/21. Well it’s Friday 12/23 and Emtek is closed for Christmas until next Wednesday...and I didn’t get any answer.... I will no longer order from Emtek.
When a lifetime warranty isn't one when its their product, but you didn't keep the receipt for 5 years. RESEARCH a company before you buy.
DO NOT BUY PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY. They DO NOT stand behind their warranty! I needed a lock cylinder replaced as the original one had fallen apart. They sent me a used on that was rusted - YES, rusted! My locksmith was going to give me credit for the new cylinder he installed if I would simply provide him with the replacement. When I showed him what Emtek sent me he laughed - and obviously told me that he would not take that piece of garbage I was provided with. When we built our home we purchased EMTEK door hardware at the recommendation of the contractor. I've had at lease 3 entry door latches break off at the strike plate and now my main entry door deadbolt has broken in the locked position. Very poor quality. I've tried to call EMTEK support but the number listed under warranty service is disconnected. None of the local hardware or lumber companies stock parts and they want me to bring in the broken latch so that they can send it in for a replacement. In the mean time I am stuc... read more
