So my mother was sent here for a short stay, it started out great, everyone was attentive, very helpful, and seemed to care for my mother. About a week into her stay the sewer backed up into her room, it was bad, the stench was awful. They made my mother sit in her wheel chair for 4 hours and never even called me. I found the charge nurse and told him it was not acceptable. He did find her another room to stay but still they did not call me, that is the main issue. My mother spent two weeks here. Nearly every nurse was wonderful. The doctors and physical therapists were amazing. The only problem is that my mothers room mate was a disgusting woman who would leave fecal matter on the toilet and soiled underwear on the floor of their shared bathroom. This is very unsanitary and disgusting. This woman should have had her own room so no one would have to share with her. The meals were GOOD! Very large portions, all you can eat. My mother spent two weeks here. Nearly every nurse was wonderful. The doctors and physical therapists were amazing. The only problem is that my mothers room mate was a disgusting woman who would leave fecal matter on the toilet and soiled underwear on the floor of their shared bathroom. I broke my right femur and left foot and was sent here from Rust Medical Hospital. My transport experience was not a pleasant one as the driver was very inconsiderate to my condition when he dropped my right leg when he released the leg brace. Upon my arrival to HealthSouth, everything turned for the best. The nursing staff and aids, OTs, and the cafeteria staff were all wonderful. I was very depressed being there as I was one of the youngest patients there and my injuries were severe enough that I couldn't be on my own.... read more

My mom broke her leg 2 weeks ago, she had surgery at Pres, and was sent to HealthSouth for rehab. I've only good things to say about HealthSouth. First, Kevin, her PT guy, is wonderful. I know my mom is going to be stronger than even before she broke her leg. He pushes and prods, but he keeps on her, and she is really moving forward physically. The OT's, the nursing staff, the Techs, and her Dr have all been great. Plus, I went to visit her and ate lunch with her today, I had a great salad from the salad bar and roast... read more

For now I give it two stars. My step father is there and clearly cannot communicate well. The case worker or manager came to me and said there can only be one person who can call to get updates. She was a little rude the way she comes across. Not sure if it was a bad day, but she ought to be more considerate to those who are not used to their loved one in a facility such as this.
