I was just there for stroke rehab, the place is from 1960, you're not going to get your medications on time if you get the right medications, the nursing staff is horrible the rooms aren't clean, none of the nurses wear gloves and there's no purell used. I'm filing a complaint with the state of Florida please you don't want your parents there. Don't confuse this one with the one in Stewart

Exactly what kind of place are you running over there?! My 83 year old Mother was sent to Encompass after a lengthy hospital stay. And unfortunately, since most rehab centers were quite crowded in Stuart and surrounding areas, there was no other choice but to transfer her to this horrific place in Vero Beach. Upon admittance, she was met with a gruff assistant who informed her that she would be "worked hard" through "therapy and exercise for no less than three hours per day, every day". If you have a choice, please choose elsewhere. While there are a few gems amongst the nursing staff , the larger majority just aren't skilled enough for this type of environment. Communication lacks greatly between departments, the nursing staff seems to be short on help and it unfortunately reflects in the patient care provided. My advice would be if you can't be there overseeing the care for your loved one on a daily basis, then this may not be the best place for them to be.

If I could do less then one star I would, I'm not given the opition. My father, 86 was admitted into Encompass shortly after having a colon resection. Dad was experiencing severe diarrhea, complete and total exhaustion and no appetite upon his admittance. Dad went into the facility weighing approximately 155lbs and after 10 days we were told that he was improving and "this is the best we can do" by Dr. Lockhart. Dad weighed out at 146lbs.
