If I could do less then one star I would, I'm not given the opition. My father, 86 was admitted into Encompass shortly after having a colon resection. Dad was experiencing severe diarrhea, complete and total exhaustion and no appetite upon his admittance. Dad went into the facility weighing approximately 155lbs and after 10 days we were told that he was improving and "this is the best we can do" by Dr. Lockhart. Dad weighed out at 146lbs. My wife was neglected there after her stroke. The staff is rude and really doesn't care. When transitioning her home, the social worker told me that was my problem. This place is all about money.

I wish I saw these Yelp reviews before I chose HealthSouth for my dear Mother's Rehab. While the therapy that my Mom received was excellent, she was treated inhumanely by several staff members. So sad to hear that this has happened to others before my Mom. My poor Mother was traumatized by some of her caregivers. I am witness to some of these events. My Mother did not want me to say anything before she was released from care of this facility for fear of retaliation by staff members. I tried to have this situation recti... read more

I wish I saw these Yelp reviews before I chose HealthSouth for my dear Mother's Rehab. While the therapy that my Mom received was excellent, she was treated inhumanely by several staff members. So sad to hear that this has happened to others before my Mom. My poor Mother was traumatized by some of her caregivers. I am witness to some of these events. Do NOT send your family member here. They will discharge them within 21 days because as we were told,"that's all our hospital allows". I've never heard of a hospital that has a definite discharge time regardless of patient capabilities and insurance. It's ridiculous. The case workers are useless and literally do NOTHING. If I could give this place a minus 0 star I would. As a health care professional I am telling this place is terrible.

My husband was also at HealthSouth in Stuart. When he first came, after having major back surgery, then heart attach, and aortic valve replacement, he was told to stand up on a walker to which he said he was very weak but the PT and student insisted...my husband fell to the floor and injured his rotator cuff, his knee and had a tear in his forearm (I took pictures). We asked for an injury report and were told that we were not going to get one. Then my husband got pneumonia and had to be transferred to the hospital. The p... read more
