Why haven't I heard of this awesome place before? I don't tend to go to Santee much (only for the Barnes & Noble when I'm in the area) but now I have another reason! The atmosphere is light, fresh, and clean. The theme of "Unevolve" is felt and displayed prominently on the wall when you walk in. SO MANY CHOICES! Love that you can make your own bowl at one price. Downside: took them a while to create and at one point the employee smelled by bowl to make sure the base of almond milk was correct since she had so many on the line. Could have done without the sniff.
Pitaya is one of my favorite things ever, but I rarely find it at places. So when I spotted pitaya on the menu here, I just had to get it. I got a coloda bowl with agave and it was one of the best I've had. The bright pink purpleish color was beautiful and it was fresh! The mix of mango, coconut, pitaya, granola and agave was delicious. I can't wait to come back here again.
First of all, finding this place was a mess. The address on here and on maps is completely wrong.. I almost just gave up. For the food quality, I got the chewy bowl, The bananas and topping are ok but the acai was almost flavorless, it seems as it was blended and watered down with ice? I'm totally on the açaí bowl bandwagon trend going on right now. My bowl was loaded full of fresh fruit (Grapes, Bananas, Blueberries, Strawberries), Goji seeds, and Granola. This was all on top of a frozen purée of açaí, blueberries, bananas and almond milk. The bowl is generous in size too. I never expected to see such a healthy option at a reasonable price!! $8 - choose a "local favorite" or a "whatever" bowl. The whatever bowl is exactly what it sounds like - you pick whatever you want to be in your bowl. The local favorites come with pre-selected ingredients. Not only are their bowls great, they have a great heart and mission behind their business. It's like a frozen yogurt/cold-stone feeling for their menu but all organic, vegan-friendly, dairy-free options, gluten-free and wholesome options.
