Good Location Chose this hotel as we didn't want to stay in the city of San Francisco at a budget hotel with limited free parking, or a good hotel with valet only parking. This hotel is in a nice clean area with some shops nearby. Has a marina out the front. Like all Extended Stay's now, they offer free wifi and a small complimentary breakfast, more of a grab and go type of thing. No frills, but nice, clean, and priced right. The hotel and our room were clean and very nice. Definately no-frills like shampoo and lotions not in rooms or a hair dyer. But, the price was excellent and it's right on the water front in a quiet neighborhood. We had a kitchen in our room with a coffee maker and a fridge. There's a market around the corner, so you can get what you need for breakfast, lunch or snacks. Housekeeping service is once a week, but you can get fresh towels when you need them. Nice Area Nice location right in front of the marina. A few shops nearby as well. The staff all seem very freindly. A shame we were given the car park view when the marina was on the other side.

Smoking room given on non smoking reservation Booked our trip in March 2012 and stayed in May 2012. Reservation clearly stated NON smoking room. We were put in a smoking room by Extended Stay and told that we could switch to a non smoking room the next day. The next day the front desk girl caught us as we came in the front door and asked about us changing rooms etc...only to find out that she had confused us with someone else. Simple, but good. If you are looking for a place to stay that is simple, this place is fine. There was nothing special or surprisingly bad. The room was clean, staff were polite, and the location is great if you have a car and know where you are going. There is nothing within walking distance, but you are just a short drive to "downtown" Alameda, Jack London Square in Oakland, and about a 20 minute drive from SF. There is a marina just outside the hotel.

great improvements I stayed in this hotel few days ago. GREAT improvements, I must say. they remodeled the rooms and added FREE wireless service. The breakfast (continental) was very disappointing. no cereal, milk, no cream cheese or jelly or at least bagels, very light coffee (almost hot water only). Only fruits, oats and hot water. I wish they can fix the breakfast bar to better serve their customers. Also there is not hairdryer in the room and the lotion was missing too. Other than that, I would stay in this hotel again.
