We were planning to be great, long-term, tenants at this neighborhood Extra Space Storage on Edgewood. As soon as our payment was drafted for our 3rd month, we received a postcard notice that rent was increasing by 80%. They baited us with an enticing $118/mo rental agreement, then after just two months they almost doubled the rent to $211/mo due to "market conditions." The lady by the name Karen lied and was very rude. She wrote 6 fake complaints about me that was never true or real. And lied and said I never paid for storage space which I did. She showed me the wrong unit that was never mine and it belongs to someone else. She called the police on me for no reason just so she can kick me and my kids off the property. Raised the rent by $80 with no notice. Doesn't seem legal to me. They don't care. Canceling and never returning.

They are never in the office. Never answer their phones. The main storage unit door is closed every time I've been there. I've wasted so much time trying to get in my storage unit. Not worth it. Looking for new storage unit

READ THE FINE PRINT!!!! First of all I began renting a 5x5 unit in July 2022 and here we are 3 months later getting a rent increase of $18!! Needless to say when I moved in the so called 5x5 unit was not a true 5x5 seeing that a concrete column runs down one side of it. When I inquired about this, they said that it's an approximate size. The sign up experience was very easy and the space itself is nice and clean. I had two problems, the first and most important one is that the representative didn't advise me that there were certain times to access the facility. Soooo, I'm there with a truck full of furniture and two workers unable to enter the facility. I contact them right then and the representative had a very nasty attitude. Business Ethics do not apply here! 50% increase in rent over night. I've seen no notice. Bait and Switch is a dirty practice and they've taken full advantage of it.
I am extremely disappointed with this faculty and facility. After 6 years between $600-$1150 a month, long standing history, they increased my rates without notice. They state in the lease they can go month to month and increase rates at any time. It is absurd to have landlords or storage facilities raise your rent during a pandemic, and when you request a review of the account, they decline the request - mind you, without any notice once again to let you know your request for refund was declined. If you ever want to access your stuff, DO NOT RENT A UNIT HERE. After a couple of hours running around this place trying to figure out how to access my unit (along with about six other upset, paying customers), I left yesterday without being able to access my unit at all.
