Yes, it costs a lot.. a lot LESS than other places! Most unit sizes that they rent out come with first month FREE! They also have SJSU specials!! The people are all very nice, the place is very clean and professional.. it even has air conditioning (so it's safe for your electronics and what not). They also have FREE trucks that you can borrow (first come first serve, with a $100 deposit that you get back when you return the truck). I highly recommend this place! Before they were EXTRA Space, they were well run, responsive and customer focused. Now they are impersonal and literally bumped our rates from $190 a month to $257...Screw inflation, it's not that high and neither is demand. So adios Extra Space enjoy the empty units...we'll find something else!

I've been storing furniture at Extra Space for many years and at different locations. This last huge price increase, without notice) was exploitive and unfair. The staff at the local office is very nice, but they seem helpless to do anything related to Customer Service. The Extra Space corporate office could care less about their customers based on my experience. I highly recommend finding a locally owned storage space run by considerate, fair and helpful management and staff. And yes I have moved out.

Do not store your stuff here! The rates are low, but it comes at a hefty price. Our unit was BROKEN INTO!! Thousands of dollars of stuff stolen when the slider on the door was forced open. It seems from the most recent reviews this is a common occurrence and I only wish I had read the reviews before choosing this location. And after I reported it to the staff, NO HELP AT ALL. Do not recommend this place!! After my stuff was BURGLARIZED (thousands of $$$) I found out several other units were as well and that this is a common occurrence at this location. They tell you the gates and security cameras make everything very secure but the reality is a stark contrast. If you want to store anything valuable or personally meaningful, look elsewhere. I also felt very unsafe when I would visit my unit alone. After what happened to me here, I'll never use this company again.

After our unit was *broken into* and many of our belongings stolen, they never followed up to ask when they could fix the roll up door. When we called 5 months later to ask if they could move us within the facility and fix the door, we let them know we had priced comparable units they were $130 less per month elsewhere. When we said we were leaving they finally offered us a unit that was $100 less a month. I used to have a larger storage space with A-1 Storage, but the price got too high. I decided to downsize to a 5x10 at this facility. When I signed on about three years ago, the price was $64.00 plus the mandatory insurance charge. Now I pay $131.00. It seems that every so often they raise the rents just because they can. I'm now paying about the same as I was paying at A-1, but for a smaller space. These people know that we need storage space and how inconvenient it is to be moving from place to place. I've been renting a storage unit here for the last 2 years. I have to say, at first, I was in a rush to move in. My unit is a 10x10 unit on the 3rd floor with climate control at $114 / month (including insurance). The place is fairly nice inside and I usually have no problems finding a cart as they are usually at the first drive up opening near the office. When I first started using this facility I thought it was great. Prices were average, staff was extremely helpful, and I could at my stuff at any reasonable hour. The staff is still helpful, but prices have gone way up. (And insurance, which used to be optional, is now mandatory, a cheesy hidden cost.) And then some carts got stolen, which doesn't say much for their security.
