Staff are very uncomfortable expressing /explaining why my unit went from 300$ up to 350$ then now 400$ within months and not even sending me a notification or email of the price jump because if had done so I would have politely declined the offer and spent my hard earned cash somewhere else!!
I highly recommend avoiding this place. Lazy, uncooperative management means the simplest visit will be trouble. There is only one rolling cart for all 600 storage units. Which means you will almost certainly not have one to use when you need it. Not a problem if you're just moving some boxes; huge problem if there's heavy furniture involved. Manager will tell you that there might be a second cart but she can't find it. If you ask her to call a district manager and ask them to bring more carts because it's sortof a big pro... read more

This place is really a shame. The structure seems good and the location is convenient-- though expensive as a result. But their attitude is a tragedy. They have hundreds of inconvenienced clients who have complained, including myself, that they have not fixed the loading dock door that gives movers and customers access. I have used this company before at a different location and didn't get treated badly as they act at the Market street location. In despite because my payment history doesn't match the records online and the district management refuses to calle to retify- I just talked time some legal services and hope they can help me resolve this

Ive had horrible experience with this place. The staff is grumpy and unforgivingly lazy. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else. The elevator is often out of service and there are no stairs to come down from the third floor which is a fire hazard and a huge inconvenience. You could find better deals and definitely better service.
The Castro Valley Location is who I am reviewing. I had a very small closet storage space, but no matter how small it was it's still my irreplaceable things. They AUCTIONED IT WITH NO NOTICE. They were sending mail to my old address. I knew I never received a letter, but I wasn't too concerned because I knew that they had my phone number and my email. I have been a customer here for years. In the past year, the staff has become unbearable. I imagine it is difficult to find good help, but honestly, it is frustrating to the point I am moving out. The manager and her husband could not be nicer, they are lovely people, but the staff is just too much for me to handle. Prices posted inline are never what you actually will end up paying. Watch out for "introductory" rates for the first number of months, bring your own home insurance to avoid an additional charge of $14 on top of all prices. Somehow these places just can't be transparent and open about pricing, instead trying to dupe people at every corner.
I'm with Lauren N. - this place is skeevy. Yeah, it's clean. It's usually not too crowded (can fit 4 cars in the loading bay area but there is almost ALWAYS the manager's car in 1 spot and sometimes people don't pull all the way forward in the other row). The units are not temp controlled as Bill D. mentioned; my unit is on the top floor and on hot days it is gross and stuffy.
