I needed to move some things out of my other house and having no space at my primary residence, needed a storage unit FAST. I did an online search and found Extra Space Storage as well as other nearby facitilites. I did some comparisons checking unit sizes offered, pricing, availability, convenience and checked user reviews. ESS was the winner, hands down! Worst customer service ever the old man that works there is a a-whole I would recommend another place this guy wouldn't even let us bring in the stuff to put in the storage without a hard time
It was good experience until they jacked up the rent by 66%. No, I didn't sign up for a low introductory rate. Their reason? Market conditions, inflation, and a few other buzz words. I seriously doubt their costs of doing business increased in 4 months. The cost of property taxes, labor and utilities haven't increased by that much. They jacked up their rent because they could. Sounds like price gouging.

Guaranteed to continually raise your rates!! Admittedly Tami was awesome in terms of customer service but the new onsite staff leave much to be desired. Corporate controls the rates and they will be raised at regular intervals. If you choose to store stuff here be prepared to move it after 6 months because once you become "long term" the rates just keep going up. We've had rates raised 3 times in 15 months.

Beware of the glowing reviews you see on google and ExtraSpace's web site. They are probably phony. There are services nowadays that specialize in upping the on-line ratings of companies so you have to keep a healthy dose of scepticism. Anyway, I would normally give Extra Space on 229th 3 stars, but they are crooked on several counts: First, I have gotten e-mails soliciting a review from me.
