We love going to see Dr Joe and his staff! They take care of our whole family. We've never had a better experience anywhere. He's so good with the kids and all my appointments have been pain free.
Corrupt billing practices. They repeatedly over charged for services and my dental insurance company even showed proof they were submitting all of the claims and kicking the bill back to me. Avoid them at all costs.
My husband had a root canal on Thursday. He called the office on Friday and said that it was bothering him a lot. He's had other root canals so he knows. He was told it was to be expected. Really? Without looking, how could you know? Waited until Monday to call to be seen. Told he could get in at 4pm, asked if there were any earlier times, no all booked. Most terrible experience ever. SO SO RUDE. STRAIGHT LIED ON COMMERCIAL. Was treated so rudely at this place. They have a commercial postage saying new patient can get a regular cleaning, exam & routine x-rays for $79. We made an appointment for that. And after the x-rays, the doctor insisted that my mom has to do a $1,100 worth deep cleaning. When we refused it and said we will think about it later, they refused to do just a regular cleaning. They bs'ed about how they have other conflicting appointments, like how??? We mad... read more

The dental services are adequate, Dr. Joe is professional and seems like a nice guy. The front desk staff are superawesome, and as a whole I don't have a problem with Family Smiles. However, on my last visit, i was given the "goodie bag" of new toothbrush, floss, some dental picks, and a 40 page booklet published by the Church of Scientology. This is unacceptable. Scientology ruins lives and my dental office is not the place to distribute religious propaganda. Please stop doing this.
If you don't object to Scientology literature being included in your dental goody take-home bag without your permission, then this is the dentist for you. He is an excellent dentist, but promoting Scientology is an egregious professional line-crossing.
While I understand that dental health is always important, now does not seem like the time to highlight that your office is open for routine dental care. Given the PPE shortage on the front lines of local hospitals, I feel that it is grossly irresponsible of you to advertise (via email...yes, I am, now was, a current patient) that you are available for even non-emergency dental care when we have all been directed by our governor to stay at home to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. I had to change my dental cleaning appointment and was told I would have to wait two more months because that was the next available. Really? Two months for a teeth cleaning? I have a hard time believing the wait was that long but I feel they do this to discourage people from changing their appointments. I called a week and a half in advance of my cleaning so it wasn't last minute. Life happens and sometimes people need to change appointments. I don't want to go 8 months between cleanings.
