Absolute scam. Will take your information and sell it, wildly invasive and only wants your application fee, this is a grift and scam. Lost $100 trying to get into a house. Will be seeking to sue.
Findigs is hands down the most intrusive and inefficient screening service Ive dealt with. They required an absurd amount of personal and financial documentation SSN, bank statements, pay stubs, offer letter, emails confirming my start date and somehow that still wasnt ********* application got held up over an employment verification email, despite already providing clear proof of employment and income. They do not keep a copy of your signed documents and allow scammers to alter documents with your signature. BEWARE if your a tenant!
Just spent two days with them. They requested bank statements after we submitted our paystubs. We sent the bank statements. They requested a statement for February and the month hasn't even ended yet! There is no statement available for February. Then they asked us to edit the bank statement by highlighting the payroll deposits (why couldn't they just review the statements themselves). I feel like it's scam. The company is using Net income not Gross income and isn't stating that in the listing, if so I wouldn't have even applied and gave all my personal information or paid the application fee. I am so curious how many people have paid the application fee and is the apartment even for rent or are they just taking the application fee. So upset!
Dealing with Findigs (and American Avenue Property Management) seemed fine at the beginning; they asked for reasonable information in order to verify our financial information in order to secure our guarantorship of our son's prospective rental property. I applied for a home with Maymont homes and Findigs is who the application is done through. The process was horrible and it feels like they are there to decline renters and keep the upfront fees that are non refundable. I was told that my home would be $1399 a month, but when I went back in to finalize things I was told that they could no longer honor this and that it would be over $1750 now.
