I made a Pay Now reservation to fly to Seattle to attend my grandmother's funeral service, however, the service date had to be changed so I tried going online to modify the reservation (through their website) however there was no way to modify it. I made the reservation 2 weeks prior for a vehicle from 1030pm July 3 to 1030am July 8. At 1030 pm we had deboarded our plane and was waiting under the Fox rental sign. There were 2 other couples who were already waiting. At 1120 pm we called the Fox rental number and couldn't get through to a real person. We tried again at 1133 pm and again couldn't get through to a real person. At 1140 pm, the shuttle arrived. Don't rent car through FOX Rental, they quoted very cheap, but you ended up paying 3 times more than the quote. And their service is awful. Its much better to pay $20 more to rent with Avis, Hertz, Budget etc the big name companies. They are usually located in main lobby at the airport which is very convenient, FOX would be at coroner on 3rd floor. And FOX charges you more than other companies. I don't understand how Fox is still in business.
Just don't do it - it looks cheaper up front but really is not much less than well known car rentals. Also, the customer service is horrible......pay the extra $20 and go with Budget, Avis, etc. it will be very much worth it.
Rented from Fox Rent a Car, Inc. at the Tampa International Airport. We made our reservation through Expedia. We arrived in Tampa, collected our luggage and headed to the rental counter to pick up our vehicle. There was a line extending past the other counters and wrapping around towards the stairs. The question is how is Fox rentals still in business?? The worst car rental experience ever. I reserved my car two weeks prior, landed to San Francisco airport from Nashville TN on 7/12/18 and spent more than an hour in line to get my car. Then waited another 15 min to get my car bc it was at car wash. I was supposed to be in Livermore CA at 11:30, but arrived there 2 hours past. I have booked a Pay Now reservation and we are flying into Seattle airport at 11:30 pm. We accidentally booked this rental a calendar day after we arrive. It seems reasonable to just extend this rental one additional day. I have called twice and had a lengthy "chat" with 3 customer service reps. I consistently heard the same response. You cannot modify your rental and it's $70 to cancel. I'm not confident that I'd get my $150 deposit back if I cancel but the $70 fee is enough that I am not eager to pay fee on principal. I booked a reservation for a Full-size car at SJC Airport. The guy at the counter says that he has only Ford Focus to offer. We asked for options and all he did was go to a lower class. He then went on to talk about how lives might end and how dangerous it is to drive on the road and how I might lose my life. Not only that, but he had the audacity to taunt everything on my DL.
