As always, we were extremely happy with our visit. Server was friendly and knew about choices, brought drinks and bread with olive oil and vinegar. (Think our server was named Melissa - she was GREAT!!) Our food came out in perfect timing and was BEYOND amazing! We left unexpectedly early and the staff was great about boxing up our food and getting our check right away. The setting is beautiful and I am so glad this place is still in business. You would never know it changed ownership this year, the quality is just the same!
The entertainment (Bias and Dunn) were A+. Service very good. My roast duck was not up to par; skin not crisp and meat a little dry. Perfect setting for acoustic music.
We have been going to Friar Tuck's for 26 years. It recently changed ownership and remains just as good as it has always been. The food is excellent and very well priced for the quantity and quality. The bar is excellent. It has a great atmosphere and an overall excellent dining experience.
Wife’s birthday. Been coming here 20 years, mostly special or romantic occasions, always for the fondue. Before and after the fire and rebuild. Definitely disappointed in the service this time. Waitress tried hard but was unfamiliar with trimmed-down menu. The bar server was terrible, first told the birthday girl that Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris were the same thing. Then brought ONE Bubble for a table of FOUR Bubble n Squeak and seemed very surprised when we asked for the other three. Sub-par for sure.
My wife and I shared the Bourbon Filet- well seared on the outside, rare on the inside. We have never had better. We were seated in the "Sherwood Forest Room". Very nice. A large party next to us was a bit "energetic" at times but it was a quiet room after that (except for us). Others in our party had the duck, another a shrimp pasta. Everyone was happy with their meal. The service was excellent. The new owner came by our table to see how we enjoyed the meal.
Great all around experience. The owner walks around greeting guests. Great vibe.
Eating at Friar Tucks is more of an, overall, experience than just a great meal. The ambient lighting mixed with a lovely setting makes for a nice backdrop for nothing less than a gourmet meal. Matched with the delicious food, and lovely environment is the equally impressive kind and attentive waitstaff. I loved my time at Friar Tucks and will be returning there soon.
Great place for a special day!!!
Old school restaurant where you can have a conversation without raising your voice and the tables are far enough apart for some privacy. I really liked that. Fillet mignon and duck dishes were nicely done. Veggie of the night was billed as ratatouille, but was really just layered mixed veggies which was disappointing as I love classic ratatouille. Orzo was listed on the menu as rice, which it is not, it’s a pasta, so that was odd. It seems they get creative with the menu, so I would ask questions if you have any food allergi... read more
