I enjoyed this course more than RJT. Fewer tricked up holes, greens were in batter shape, and a great selection of par 3s. Relaxed atmosphere. And maybe because it's December, but as a 3some only took us 3:50 to finish.
Fore! Wow, Hilton Head Island has some great golf courses! Each one seems to outdo the next with scenic settings, manicured fairways and perfect greens. The South Carolina environment sets the perfect template with a long growing season, towering oaks and sea pines and the ever captivating S wepanish moss that instantly let's you know it's a course in the deep coastal south. This is another excellent course amongst the collection at Palmetto Dunes. The layout is very friendly for the medium to high handicap golfer (wide fairways and greens, not too much water about) but also poses enough challenges to the low handicapper to keep them interested. In that respect, it differs from the Hills course which I found to be easily the most challenging of the three we played this week. This golf course is always in great condition. We have been coming to HHI for almost 20 years and we always play it. The best part of the course is the people that run it and maintain it. Very friendly and accomodating. Makes you feel right at home. Very good value for your dollar.
Course in incredible shape. Staff super friendly. Marshall kept the pace of play going. Pingpong or darts in the grille after the round can help you settle an on course tie for the overly competitive players out there.
The course is in pretty good shape. Reasonably challenging and well-maintained. Prior to teeing off, one of the staff members was very unpleasant and demanded that our group rush through our round so that he could leave work early. After only playing 9 holes, the bag boy hurried us off of the course without cleaning our clubs or acknowledging us at all. He displayed an aggressive attitude while cleaning our carts and ruined what should have been a great time on the golf course for my family and I.

What a great day! The course was in great shape and the staff couldn't have been any better. Especially Chris Lewis he even informed us about the island whereabouts and great places to dine.
Save your money. Staff is rude as soon as you walk in, beverage cart didn't come back after the 8th hole. Course is in mediocre condition. Waste of 100 dollars.
