this place is ridiculous. I thought this was a good place to go after I had what I considered a mental breakdown ,small hallucinations, colors stuff like that. I checked myself in under the false pretense that I would not be ignored or mentally abused. Neither were true. Period. the first day there I was basically threatened with a longer stay if I tried to sign myself out. The 1010 process is not explained in detail, it is used as a threat. Terrible care, don't send your loved ones if you care about them. My son is bipolar paranoid schizophrenic, he will cycle and become manic which makes him confused. He finds it very hard to deal with and was looking for help. The emergency room transferred him to Greenleaf and no one there would talk to me because in his confusion he never filled out a RIO. So for 12 days I had no idea what was happening with my son. Today when I called I was informed he had been transferred to the country jail and that's all they could say.... read more

I went here after i overdosed. it made me regret not taking more! building reeks of mildew and cigarettes. food doesn't deserve the title "food". more suited for a dog. the nurses had the personality of a cactus (one of those really prickly ones). some guy when crazy and a male nurse tackled him and they gave him booty juice (which by the way idk why that's even legal). impossible to get sleep over the blood curdling screams! i only got to make 3 phone calls a day (sometimes just 2) and they only let you talk for 15 minutes... read more

ok first of all, this place was terrible. all the nurses and doctors were disrespectful and just straight up rude. there was one time where this girl assaulted me and (i'm white the girl was African American) i tried telling the therapist (she's African American) and she told me there was nothing she could do and she ran over to the other girl to comfort her. bye. like what. anyways we were told we would have activities all through the day but nope we just sat in a loud room all day watching tv and watching other crazy kids ... read more

this place gave me ptsd and i'm still having nightmares to this day a year later about the way i was treated. the only good thing is the techs there, they act like moms and comfort you beyond belief but other than that this is a scared strait program rather than a place to get help. absolutely DO NOT recommend. i will keep leaving bad reviews until this place is shut down and i'm looking to seek legal counsel

19 hours ago NEW I'm writing this review as a concerd family member of a young man who allegedly went missing 3/18/2023. His mom hadn't spoken to him a week prior to him " missing" coincidentally after him complaining to her during their last phone conversation that he was concerned he was being overly medicated and not eating because the food was disgusting. STAY AWAY from this place! This hospital is the worst place for a teenager to go after a suicidal attempt. My girl was placed there for the 72 hour psychiatric hold. She left the place a lot worse than she went in. Staff is careless, doctors are a joke, food is terrible. They told me that she would have activities the entire day, a pure joke. I had an interview at a mental health facility (Green Leaf Center, Valdosta), during my interview, the lady left to speak with someone she returns back a few minutes later. The worst part is she called patients "customers." Absolutely the most unprofessional interview I have ever had.
