Absolutely horrific! Do not send anyone here! I was told this was a Rehab and after locked behind closed doors I was told I couldn't leave if I wanted to. They do not care about people they are treating nor are they adequately qualified
Okay so I debated whether to do this review or not. Not happy about putting down another psych hospital but I feel this needs to be said. I'm a psychiatric RN so I'm not unfamiliar with this process at all. Been doing this for 4 years. Recently, my daughter was admitted for depression. She had been on an antidepressant for 2 weeks and her symptoms got worse. Not an unusual occurrence. Professionals know to monitor for this. Greenleaf is absolutely horrible! They don't even deserve 1 star. But I need to let people know. My daughter was taken there because she was threatening suicide and homicide and had been cutting herself. They did her "safety plan" the very first day she was there. Such as, what could she do when she starts feeling that way. She continued to cut herself while she was an inpatient. No one ever called me to notify me anytime she did it. If you are really wanting help in recovery don't go here. I went here for 28 days, for alcohol. I didn't get the help I needed. They had one group a day for recovery. They have a schedule that shows all this stuff but they don't do it... seriously one group a day for an alcoholic doesn't cut it. The staff is ok, there are some amazing techs and nurses.. heather and Vanessa are amazing team, q and Bobby aregood along with Bruce at night. They don't even deserve one star. NEVER talked to a doctor until they called and told me my child was being discharged and I demanded to speak to the doctor!! He was admitted Wednesday night and when I went for the family visit on Sunday I asked when I would be speaking to the doctor and was told he would be getting in touch with me. NEVER happened. Do not trust this place!!!!
They only care about money. If you have medical insurance they will keep you longer than the law allows. I never spoke to a medical professional while an in-patient here. My medical documents were forged and Greenleaf knew immediately, but they wanted money so they held me hostage against my will for 7 days; 4 days longer than legally allowed. Greenleaf in Valdosta, GA SUCKS!!! they have one girl shower and one boy shower, that it! The staff were the most uncaring and mean to the patients .yeah they yell ..We never had any kind of therapy, none! Eating the same food as the people in jail eat...They lost my dentures. Tell me now, who goes to the hospital via ambulance, from a Greenleaf because I was so beat up! Greenleaf has put in a swimming pool...so all the patients who need to wear pad and or diapers and such can swim. bet the pool smells like poison!... read more
The nurses were really nice but the doctors were mia. I was admitted Tuesday 11/27/12 and I left Friday 11/30/12. During my time there I was in the adult program with men and women from 19 to 60 something. The other people were in there for a range of things mostly drugs. I was scared when I first arrived because I am 19 and was there involuntarily for trying to kill myself and arriving with me was a lady that was going crazy crying and hugging people.
