In my open table notes had requested to not be sat next to children, I was taken to the only room that had children in it and they tried to sit us as a table next to 2 tables with 4 or more toddlers or babies. I said no, I wanted to move and the hostess was visibly upset. As a parent of a child, when I have a child free night, the last thing I want to do is pay $100 to listen to kids whine and cry while I eat. I was moved and we got our server who talked poorly about the entertainment, talked poorly about the kitchen, asked ... read more

This was my first time dining at Grindstone Public House. We had reservations for 2 at 5:15 p.m. The host was not very friendly and proceeded to walk us up a rather long flight of stairs to our table. I would have appreciated him asking us beforehand if walking up a flight of stairs was okay with us, as we are not spring chickens, rather than assume it was. Once we got to our table, he proceeded to seat us at a small 2 top that was sandwiched in between two 4 tops. I asked if we could have a larger table since there were sti... read more

The server was scarcely seen. The appetizers took forever. The server brought my dinner salad at the same time as the appetizers. Both $30 rack of ribs were so burnt you couldn’t recognize them and any meat had been burned off yet they still tried to serve them by covering them with barbecue sauce.
I looked forward to trying this establishment for long time. I was very disappointed. First, I must say the service was excellent. It's really nice they keep a bottle of water on the table so you don't run out. The decor is very well done. However; I do note that the place is so dark it's not easy to navigate the dark floor. The darkness was so pronounced I had to use my cell phone flashlight to read the menu. I did observe others doing the same. I heard the fried green tomatoes were such a large portion it would serve two. ... read more
Lunch menu was not available until 2pm only brunch. Which was fine but would have been nice to know. Reserved a high top on open table. Then was told they don’t allow that. Service was incredibly slow and poor. She was just overwhelmed and no one would help her. Manager was more worried about changing the music.
Server didn’t introduce herself, did not speak to us other than taking our order, felt very rushed as well.
Food was night very flavorful and drinks did not taste well.
We had a reservation a requested a table around the perimiter but got seated in the middle of the room with a private party going on up stairs. We as well as 4 other tables asked to be moved, which we were, but it was still to noisy to carry on a conversation. It was not enjoyable. There were 4 of us in our party. One had the fish tacos and they were dry with little flavor. He only ate one and left the rest. My wife ordered the salmon. She requested a salad to replace one of her sides and also ordered brussel sprouts as an e... read more
My wife ordered the fillet slider and pretzels, and both were overcooked. She took one bite out of the slider and couldn’t eat anymore. I had their Paloma and it was the worst Paloma I’ve ever tasted. I ordered chicken wings and was unable to eat half of them. the waitress was very Kurt and never took time to ask how our meal was. We did bring dessert home for our kids and they seem to enjoy the carrot cake, the sugar pie, and the lemon Brulé. The only positive experience outside of the desserts was the kind young man who is... read more
