Got loaded into a new ambulance and made the long drive back. Arrived at 6am on the 12-6-19. The intake person was a compleat spaz. 97% of my intake ... read more
Quick note: when I refer to adolescent(s), I am meaning ages 13-17, not children.) My review on google 2 months ago was deleted. Here it is copy and pasted, also edited a bit. I was a patient at Harbor Oaks Hospital many times in the adolescent (pediatric) section. Your personal freedom here is pretty much deprived, as it is in most places. You have limited access to your clothes, hygiene material, books, anything used to help or regulate yourself. Try to bring PG books, they won't be hesitant to take away any 'graphic' mate... read more
I would not suggest this hospital for treatment , when I was in here everyone was sick and I got pinkeye from someone in here like the day before I left , not to mention the fact that I was in here for 8 days and I didn't see the doctor til my 7th day .
I was here for about 10 days in 2017. I watched an elderly man in urine soaked pants slip on those pants and fall. An orderly saw and turns her back sneering- he does this to himself. When I don't see him the next day I worry. I hear someone in the men's side trying to wake him up and the same orderly tell the others that the man is being unresponsive on purpose. When I saw the old man at lunch his arm was doubled in size and purple. I saw him have difficulty walking earlier in the day. His eye was swollen and was cut and bl... read more
To Whom It May Concern: I am writing on behalf of a current patient of yours, I am his medical POA and Advance Directive. He has sought help at your facility and was quite excited about it since he would be seeing Dr. Vervaeke. He was admitted on Wednesday 11/2/16 and has had problems since the date he was admitted. First off, he had an appointment, he was NOT a walk in and we had to wait for 5-6 for him to be seen which is completely unacceptable for someone who is seeking help with substance abuse and mental health. So... read more
Your mission statement and their service delivery do not line up. Light, Hope and Compassion? Where is compassion in leaving a child struggling with mental health issues cut off from communication? It's illegal but also inhumane. Philosophy: In your philosophy, you state you employ best practices. Can you tell me where best practice is to deny access to communication? A holistic approach? Except from the social/communication piece. If interaction were not critical, your patients would be in isolation from 6 pm to 8 am. ... read more
My child was denied equal access to the communication from staff and peers. I fought hard to get the communication and was turned down at every step. This is the SECOND time this facility turned down the ADA title III requirement.
I stayed on the adolescent ward 3 years ago it was awful don't go here unless your desperate staff don't care and are rude boys and girls are separated the wont give you water if you ask for it they tie you down for crying take off your bra and have a man watch over you let people stick there hands in your food then make you eat it you are not allowed to talk to the other patients and have to stay in your room all day the only group I had was one designed to test our patience and frustrate us and when we got frustrated they... read more
