Haven is our go-to date night spot! And our server, Gordon, is the absolute best! Get there early, so you have plenty of time to eat, drink and most important chat with him before it gets busy!! His recommendations are always perfect, and you will expand your palate at this farm to table place. Everything is put together in your dish for a reason, so eat it all together! I have been a regular at Haven, as it is in my neighborhood so it was an easy decision to take a group of clients from out of town there earlier this week who were staying nearby. They all enjoyed the experienced had much praise for the food. However, there were two things that really disappointed me about our dining experience - 1) it was a very warm evening in Atlanta and I found the restaurant to be very uncomfortable, almost as if the air conditioning was not working, and 2) the quality of service we received was poor. We have been to Haven many times in the past. We had a less experienced server and he was not up to the standard that Haven typically has. The food was not as good as usual, ie. the mussels. It is a very noisy atmosphere and I don't believe you get what you pay for. I don't know if we will make it back again, and we are so sorry to report that.
The menu is limited and we often aren't sure we'll like the suggested combinations. But we have really loved the flavors both times we've been. Their food is delicious.
Espresso mousse was awesome. Steak was perfect. The mussels are fantastic!
This is my second time to Haven. I wish we lived closer… It’s a long way to drive but well worth it. This time we had an early reservation for the patio. Food was fantastic. The server was excellent, we brought our dog and he brought an appropriate water bowl. Wonderful patio well shaded.
For those who live in the Atlanta area, make the effort to get to the Haven restaurant on a Thursday night, when Tom Grose, Tony Hill, and Joe Callahan are playing on the back patio. On a nice temperate night, it is the excellent combination of very good food, very nice ambiance, and great entertainment. If you want to take a date to a nice place, this is it.
Our favorite place is still our favorite place! We splurge to go here and are never disappointed. Some nights we get a salad, app each and split an entree. This evening we shared th fried oysters - delicious and substantial. The pork chop was enormous and incredibly tender. I ate some, shared some and brought home the remaining 1/2.
