For those who live in the Atlanta area, make the effort to get to the Haven restaurant on a Thursday night, when Tom Grose, Tony Hill, and Joe Callahan are playing on the back patio. On a nice temperate night, it is the excellent combination of very good food, very nice ambiance, and great entertainment. If you want to take a date to a nice place, this is it.
Our favorite place is still our favorite place! We splurge to go here and are never disappointed. Some nights we get a salad, app each and split an entree. This evening we shared th fried oysters - delicious and substantial. The pork chop was enormous and incredibly tender. I ate some, shared some and brought home the remaining 1/2. Obsessed!!!
Chef Joe really did an outstanding job tonight! He brought out a sample of the okra with tomato jam and the creamed corn. They were delicious and so were our meals. We were lucky enough to dine with Taylor at the bar twice today. We continue to be spoiled by WORD OF MOUTH restaurants! Thank you!
Haven has been a favorite of ours after first dining there about two years ago. (The restaurant itself reminds me of a place in NYC I used to visit.) The food is always just delicious, fresh and well presented, and the nightly specials they offer are wonderful. Of all the times I've dined at Haven I've only ordered an entree from the regular menu maybe twice; usually choosing a special entree.
