Yes, the construction is annoying. The Wi-Fi is unsecured and leaves a lot to be desired, but in my experience it's infinitely better than the Wi-Fi on campus. Besides that, I haven't had any issues with Hawks. We had a few maintenance issues the first couple weeks after move-in (dishwasher didn't work, window leaked), but all were fixed promptly after submitting a request. I lived here for one year of college at Miami. The walls were very thin. There are no passenger of service elevators and I was given a top floor (3rd floor) room despite asking for something lower. It was as if I hadn't made any response. The utility bills are unusually high in the winter for heating to be shared by 4 people as was the case in my apartment. Currently living in the Hawks Landing as a graduating, senior from the University of Miami. And just wanted to write a little review on the place I've been living at for the last semester. if anyone is trying to look for a place to live, I would recommend any other place, but this one as of the last semester spring term we haven't had three weeks of solid service for one we had a Wi-Fi outage the first week for a total of four days then after that, we had an issue with our dryer, and to top it all off we had a pipe burst in ... read more

stay away from this place if you can!!! they are extremely unprofessional and are solely in it for the money. They upcharge and over-bill people because they know people at miami have money so they know they can get away with it. just avoid this place overall seriously not worth it!
Really bad internet for a digital age apartment. They have no Ethernet ports for hardwired internet, and the WiFi is overtaxed. My window has a hole in it so the smokers I was made to live with, who step outside to smoke, get smoke in through the draft in my window. The service is nice and the people are polite, and the amenities are diverse--pool (though it closes in the winter), gym, and tennis court. However, if you're someone that requires a stable internet connection, such as for classes, run away.
The internet technician has been here so many times since I moved in (in AUGUST) that my roommate's hyper sensitive to everyone dog has stopped barking at him. Hawk's has wifi-only internet, with the routers' ethernet ports apparently disabled and no option to change providers. The company itself refuses to do anything remotely without sending a tech out (Who ends up calling in with his spiffy authorization to ask them to reset the router anyway, which they do), whose opinion so far has been that Hawks needs to replace these... read more
DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!! They do not call you back. They charge you all these mysterious fees at the end then DO NOT answer your questions. Three of my roommates have called off and on at different times multiple times over a few days to resolve an issue and are all told we will get called back and managers are not there and NEVER GET ANSWERS. This place is awful. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I had issues early on in the year and it was the same thing. leaving multiple messages in person and on phone and NO CALL BACK OR ANSWERS.
I lived at Hawks Landing last year, and chose not to renew for a few reasons. Some of them are obvious--the distance from campus and the lack of a shuttle from the complex to campus, and the fact that it's more expensive than some other places of comparable status in the area that offer more amenities and still charge less.
