Great printer with decent color printing. Quiet operation The blacks are crisp and the color output was quite true to the source. We bought this to replace our old 15 year old Okidata C5150 color laser printer, which was a workhorse. Compared to that, this Brother's printer was very quiet, and the start up spool time is considerably shorter.
Wish I had another This printer is very heavy. It does print well when it works, but I have constant issues with error messages about the toner. I have spent many frustrating hours trying to figure it out. Admittedly, I am not a techy person, so it could partly be user error, but I wish I had gotten one that is more user friendly. I think it is a good printer but just hard to figure out. I should have gotten a compact one instead.

Not good for color graphics with sharp edges Great build quality, but this is not a good printer if you want sharp crisp edges when printing color graphics. The way it mixes the toners and lays them down is not up to par for a "Laser" printer. It is not actually laser. It works off LED arrays as a light source for toner transfer. Here is an example of my problems.
