Horrible Customer Service Horrible Customer Service, Our office had a lot of the older model of this printer. We decided to upgrade to this model because Brother no longer sells the old one. We've had nothing but issues with the new model and customer service is awful. If you call in they have an extremely long process designed to frustrate you so no warranty claim is submitted. Brother printers were great in the past but this model just isn't the same.
Stay FAR away Great at first, now, when I try to install a new toner cartridge, the "Replace Toner" message remains on the screen and the unit does not operate, I've tried EVERYTHING, spent a whole day trying to fix it. To make matters worse Brother's Customer Support is among the worst in the business by far. Stay far, far away.
Toner Stops Instantly with No Warning, and Brother Shakes You Down for More Money or Else! Maybe the worse printer ever. The super high yield toner is supposed to last for 12,000 prints. I got nowhere close to that! Plus this thing stops instantly when it wants you to buy more toner. You can't even override it. Literally, it's like Brother shaking you down for money to get more prints. And it says it won't accept non-Brother toner, because that won't work with its pay-to-play, shakedown business model.
Eh...it's okay. It's okay. I received it yesterday. I tried to get the wireless hooked up, but it kept telling me that it couldn't install. Finally in frustration, I decided to just hook it up directly to my computer. Man, is this thing LOUD! I have purchased a lot of printers for my home office (both color and monochrome) and this is by far, the loudest printer I have ever had. Piece of junk printer that lost it after being moved from one room to another. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I have used this printer just a few times (literally) and when I went to transfer this printer and computer it was attached to wirelessly to another room, it will not work anymore. I have tried all the troubleshooting I could think of. It powers on, LCD works, but just stays in cursor 1 position. My computer no longer recognizes that this printer is even installed. Still a great printer, but with annoyances not present in earlier models Rated at four stars because it works about as well as all the previous Brother monochrome lasers I've had, which is pretty much flawlessly. Horrible Horrible For Printing Labels This printer picks up 2 sheets when you try to print labels so you end up with half of the label on one sheet and the other half of the label on the 2nd sheet. A total waste of expensive in label paper. It doesn't usually jam the printer when both label sheets go through but sometimes it does. To print labels you have to open the paper drawer and only insert 1 label sheet at the time. I only use full label sheets and 30 label sheets so this is the only 2 style label sheets that I use. Print smeared ink Had problems the first week. It keeps smearing the ink on our eBay labels. It kept disconnecting from our internet every 30 minutes so we are currently hardwiring it. If we print 8 pages maybe the first 7 are smeared but not the 8th page. Sometimes all 100 pages would be smeared.
