Doesn't respond...goes into sleep mode The printer does not respond as it goes into sleep mode. Everytime we want to use it, we have to turn it off and then back on.
Piece of Crud Piece of crud. Already having major print issues with this machine. No easy way to troubleshoot. No further support. Run away, run away, run away. I put new drums, new toner, and it just does not work. The settings says all the components have over 85% life left, except the drum - which I have installed two new drums and yet the sensor on the machine keeps telling me the drum is at 24% and the machine keeps saying to insert the drum. Fast once it gets going but not enough memory (256mb ... Fast once it gets going but not enough memory (256mb and can not be upgraded). Hardwired network not wireless. Used as a student printer. If more than 3 simultaneous users it just does not print. Also goes into Deep Sleep and will not print. Have another in a 2 person office and it's OK.
Decent Printer Overall This is a decent printer, and it does what I need it to do, which is to print according to document size and choose letter or legal from the paper trays, depending upon the paper size of the original documents being printed. I upgraded to this one from a HL6180DWT, which I purchased in 2013, three and a half years ago. Printer does not wake up from DEEP SLEEP mode - factory glitch The Brother HL-6200DW has a factory glicth. It goes into DEEP SLEEP mode and does not wake up when you send it a print job. Cannot rely on it in a busy office setting. Non-technical employees will have to struggle with DEEP SLEEP problem on this printer. This is a factory lemon that other Brother printers experience identical problem - Google "DEEP SLEEP and the name of your Brother printer" and you will see that it is unresolved factory problem.
dual tray replacement for my Dell 5210 workgroup printer I need a dual tray replacement for my Dell 5210 workgroup printer. This one had very good reviews. I got it in September and it went through the toner cartridge 3K pgs that came with it and an 8K spare in less than 3 months with only 1K of paper through it. It is not as fast as the Dell at 40 pgs a minutes. When it says low toner you better have another one on hand as it just stops working in the middle of a print job until you change the cartridge, not go for a Notary... read more
Do a lot of printing? Do not buy this printer... I do NOT recommend buying this printer if you need to do excessive printing. I'm a mobile notary and I have a lot of documents that must be printed for clients. I purchased this printer in July from Amazon, replaced it with a new printer in October from Brother and in December it still doesn't work properly and Brother support basically said, too bad, deal with it. I now have to purchase ANOTHER printer to handle high volume printing. I get an error message that the first tray... read more
Great while it's working Great unless/until it malfunctions. Brother's warranties are worthless. Be prepared to pay for a fix or replacement yourself.
Easy setup. Uses standard toner cartridge Easy setup. Uses standard toner cartridge. All HP printers are being replaced by Brother printers because of the cost savings of using the same toner cartridge across a number of printer models. Every time HP come out with a new printer, they have a new cartridge to go with it, Last count there were over 37,000 HP printers out there with different cartridges. People wake up!!
