Reliable like a brother Printer would automatically print on tray 2, which is legal for me, when tray 1 which is letter ran out. As a business this is bad. Sales told me this is just the printer. So, Brother Technical Support just called me, they called me!! That is unheard of. Anyways, a setting on the printer itself called auto-continue is on by default. It must be off to stop the paper from automatically switching to legal when our of letter. Thank you Brother!!!!
they work as good as any big printer company limited success with brother products, they work as good as any big printer company, nothing special. The low rating is for their customer service - AWFUL !!
We purchased this printer for our small office since our ... We purchased this printer for our small office since our commercial MFC does not handle envelop job very well. I have trouble with the paper tray setting. We bought this printer to accomplish three things: printing on letterheads, plain paper and envelops. For some reason, if we leave the bypass tray loaded with envelops, it will automatically default to that tray regardless what we have chosen under print option. Does anyone have a solution for that? So it looks like it is still more economical to keep buying new ... Brother printers will last less than 1 year in a high volume print setting.. We print a few thousand pages a month between labels and paper.. Over the past three years we have had to replace our brother dual-tray printer each year.. I highly doubt they improved this new model.. What is the alternative? The comparable HP Enterprise printer is $900+, more if you want wireless.. Do you really think the HP Printer would last 3 years in similar conditions? I doub... read more
Power trouble! This printer has all the right stuff BUT, it zaps the power. I first set it up to my backup power-it shut it down! I then plugged it independently on it's own-sent a test page and the lights all dimmed (came back up after print complete). I have a newer house with newer wiring; can't believe this happened (had to send it back, worried what would happen if my TV was on). Oh, how I wish this printer didn't do this.
