To be honest I like the atmosphere at Jake and Joes...fun place to go for a few drinks, appetizers, maybe even a sandwich and watch a game. I on the other hand had the grilled shrimp and rice bowl and it was horrible. The shrimp tasted like cardboard...no flavor, and very very dry not worth the $17.?? It cost. Never again for anything other than drink and apps.
Waitress took drink order, appetizer order (mozzarella sticks for four pple) and then we didn’t see her for 30 minutes. After we got our food we had to grab her to get more drinks. I got a side Caesar salad and it was dripping with dressing-awful! Although it’s the same menu as the Braintree location overall it was pretty bad
I was meeting a couple friends late afternoon on a Sunday and the music was so loud we had to virtually yell to hear each other. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who wanted to actually have a discussion with a companion.
We were seated promptly as the restaurant was not that busy at 5:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. It took a few minutes for the waitress to come over but within a reasonable amount of time. At this point we ordered our food and drink at the same time and had no issues. This is where it went horribly wrong. The waitress seemed to vanish most of the time. They never gave me my points for open table from April reservation despite contacting them more than once to correct. Not necessarily a reason to go back but it is wrong.
The food was very good. It is a typical bar/sport club menu. The onion rings were crispy and not greasy at all. I had the Thanksgiving sub which was good. It could have used a little more cranberry or gravy to give it some flavor. My drink was not great - asked for a Grey Goose dirty martini with a wedge of lemon and two olive. I was told they didn’t serve Grey Goose vodka so I got Kettle One.
