In one 30-minute session, Dr. Vogt diagnosed my daughter with a major conduct disorder, spent 5 minutes tops explaining the disorder to me, and then sent us on our way out into the world with this major diagnosis on our hands without so much as exit paperwork, next steps, or where to turn for additional help. If she chooses to provide a response to this review in order to defend her questionable-at-best methodology, know that we have since had second and third opinions by respected psychiatrists, and they both disagree with ... read more
Business response:
In psychiatry unfortunately we cannot order MRI's, labs or measure things. It very much depends on the patient's history as well as verbal and non-verbal communication. Obviously I do not know who wrote this review but it seems that you were not happy with the second psychiatrist's opinion either since you looked for a 3rd opinion. If indeed I gave a diagnosis of conduct d/o I would never let you leave without making a recommendation for therapy since there is no medication for conduct d/o.
If you want someone who is going to take the time to listen or work with your therapist on treatment, this isn’t it. If you want a psychiatrist who takes insurance and will write a script, go for it. The office staff is unprofessional and you will be in the waiting room for a long time. Reading her defensive responses on this page to any negative comments should tell you everything that you need to know. It wasn’t until I switched to a2nd psychiatrist that I realized how bad things were at BHC.
Business response:
Hello, Yes, I have to agree with you. We do not work well with outside therapists because of the difficulty to connect with them. We changed our practice to only see patients for medications if they are also seeing a therapist here because the coordination of care is better this way.
If you are looking for a psychiatrist who will take the time to get to know your child and develop a treatment tailored to the needs of you child - Do Not Go to Jutta Voght! She will prescribe and change medications without taking the time to see why her treatment is ineffective. She has no bedside manner and did not bother to dig deeper into my child’s mental health beyond a pharmaceutical approach. Thankfully, my child is under the care of a new wonderful Doctor and is thriving on less medications and holistic healing.
My experience with Dr. Vogt as a psychiatrist for my teenager was very negative. My daughter was with Dr Vogt over a year and every visit Dr Vogt had to ask my daughter for her name and what medications my daughter was taking. Basically all Dr. Voght did was push one medication after another until she had my 17 year old 100lb daughter taking 6 different medications. Dr Vogt was never available for an emergency and my daughter’s symptoms got much worse under her care. I would highly recommend NOT taking your adolescent to Dr.... read more
Business response:
We have electronic prescribing so there is no doubt what medications your teenager is on. Secondly, I am truly amazed to what length people go to come up with telling literally lies. If I had any teenager on 6 medications, I would be appalled by myself. I can tell you with ABSOLUTE certainty that I have no child on 6 medications. That would border on malpractice. I want to challenge you to contact the office and we help you file a malpractice lawsuit rather than hiding behind an anonymous post!
I agree with the posts above who found the receptionist to be beyond rude. She was there every time I had an appointment and never warmed up and continued to be rude. Very unprofessional! Not too impressed with Dr. Vogt either. She never spent time with me to evaluate my mental health. She pretty much asked a couple of questions and wrote scripts.
Business response:
The purpose to see a psychiatrist is to do a psychiatric evaluation which we do with every patient and yes, patients come to see a psychiatrist because they want medications for their mental health. I often make referrals to therapists but often patients just want a " pill " to get better. We now made it mandatory that every patient that sees a psychiatrist at BHC also needs to see a therapist at BHC.
I was recommended to Dr. Vogt a while ago for my child. I read her reviews before I made first appointment and apparently we didn't meet the same Dr. that everyone else did. She was brief, aloof, quick to write scripts for every ailment my child told her about, and was IMPOSSIBLE to get a message to or speak to. Her front office secretary in the K of P office was absolutely horrendous. She was nasty on the phone, nasty at the window, and was not helpful at all. My child had some serious issues that Dr. Vogt fixed by prescrib... read more
Business response:
I am sorry you had an unhappy experience. I avoid polypharmacy and I usually manage with 1 or 2 medications depending on concerns. Every patient with a serious side effect, I see the same or next day. I ask the staff to rather overbook me than to miss anything.
I called Behavior Health to schedule my first appointment. I was referred by my therapist. When talking to the receptionist is was ask to provide a credit card to put on file. I explained that I didn't have any credit card because my identity was stolen a few years back and I needed to close my credit card/account and chosen to not reopen them. It took awhile to get my credit in good standing and do not want to go through that again. I explain that I can pay with a check or cash. I was told that after speaking with her boss ... read more
I waited 2 months to meet w/this dr, after MULTIPLE let downs from previous psychiatrists i was very adamant w/office that i needed to book w/a GOOD-strong suited psychiatrist. I was very excited to meet a dr who i thought could help my fam. & i via her advice, helping w/ correct medicine but maybe tweak things based on her thoughts-why i was there! Worst listener: got very upset w/me about a mistake-gettibg loud angry! Poor bedside manner, i left w/ her taking my co-pay & bilking me & ZERO help
Business response:
Unfortunately when patients feel let down by " MULTIPLE " psychiatrists, the problems are often much bigger than a single visit can hope to resolve. In those cases, I always recommend therapy in addition to medication management since it is not very likely that the problems get resolved consulting another psychiatrist. I wish you good luck in the future.
If you can find another place that takes your insurance, go there. Dr Vogt is cold, unfriendly and never remembers who you are. Her front desk worker is extremely rude. The worst part is you always have to wait more than 30 minutes for your appointment. The appointment then lasts 10 minutes. The worst mental health practice I have been to. Stay away!
Business response:
Thank you for your feedback! We want to be respectful of everybody's time. Delays happen when accommodating patients with urgent matters or missed appointments. We will look into how to streamline appointments better. My goal is for everybody to do well! Stable patients often require much less time than patients in crisis. I always meet the patient where their needs are, what questions they have or what they want to share. This often accounts for the variability in visit experiences.
