Though not Clay's fault, the process of buying the KB Home was unpleasant from the start. Clay and the finance folks did a good job in getting us to the closing table but the purchase experience as a whole was OK at best. Even at closing we were asked to complete survey after survey (here is another one!) and sign frivolous paperwork. If I were a first time home buyer I would be really turned off by the overall buying experience, it was akin to buying a used car.

It was easy to connect with Clay but just two things would have made the experience better. 1) increased transparency that the seller credit was being applied to the loan points. Was led to believe points were 2.1k rather than 7.1k when we had a 5k credit. 2) Getting the final updates numbers ended up being confusing. The final house price was not accurate in the loan lock so documents and it took too much time for that to be clarified as the reason the closing cash had changed significantly.
