Brought two kinds of dog food and a wet supplement for my two dogs staying, but they still charged me for a whole bag of dog food for a two night stay. I would have liked to have been notified before they made additional charges, and to not find out when I picked them up

Business response:

Jackir, I am very sorry to hear about your experience. I'm the office manager at Kennel Care. Please give the office a call and ask to speak with me so I can get the details of what happened during your dog's stay. There are times when we need to charge for food (when a pet is on a prescription food or has other health concerns that require special diet). If we didn't need to do so, I will be happy to make it right. Give me a call so I can get some additional information. -Nate Murphy

What happened? Used to be the greatest vet practice in the valley. Now after being a loyal customer for 18 years, I need to look for a new clinic. I still admire Dr. Hudman for his clinical ability and animal rapport, but the front office policies have taken all the joy out of going there. Up until a few years ago if I had an animal who got sick or injured, they would tell me to bring him in and they would squeeze him in. Now if my animal is sick they refer me to an emergency clinic and don't even ask information about him... read more

Business response:

Dear B N I am deeply sorry to read your review today. We try our best to make time available to all of our clients, and even hold some appointments for use the same day. There are times, however, when emergencies arise and and even those "saved" appointments are unavailable when someone calls. We certainly have not had any change of policy regarding referring clients to emergency clinics when the doctor feels it's warranted. I would love the opportunity to discuss whatever situation(s) led to you feeling this way, and ma... read more

I have waited to write this as I wanted to calm down. I had been going to Kennel care for years. I loved it. I loved Dr. Brandt and the front desk people and offc manager Nathan. Dr. Brandt moved out of state and Dr. Tutle joined the group. While I liked Dr. Tutle the front office changed. Never got the welcome feeling. While Nathan the office manager tried, the day came when one of my girls was sick and I needed help. I called as an emergency. I was flatly told sorry, they couldn't see her. This was during the week. I was t... read more

Our pet Schnauzer "Bear" was diagnosed Lymphoma on 8/8/2016 by Dr. Hudman at Kennel Care in Chandler. He was prescribed Prednisone and I was told he had 30 to 60 days to live. Hudman also recommended chemo therapy, which I declined. On 8/28 our pet started experiencing, what we thought was pain. On two evenings, my wife even slept with him on the floor to help comfort him. When I initially talked to Dr. Hudman he indicated dogs didn't experience pain with Lymphoma, if anything it would be like humans have the flu bug. On 8... read more

Deserves a zero star rating. I have gone to Kennel Care for 16 years. I lost count of the pets that they have seen of mine. I have lost count of the people I referred to them. I will never step foot in this clinic again. The care they gave my dog is unthinkable and they should be ashamed. i adopted two dogs from Serbia that I rescued from the side of the freeway May 16. After paying all of their vet bill in Serbia, their air transportation, they arrived July 22. Mother and puppy (3 month old). The next day I took ... read more

Can I give less than one star? I was house sitting who uses kennel care. We needed the vet in an emergency. During regular business hours they told us they were closing in 40 minutes and to take the dog to an emergency clinic. At the emergency clinic not associated with kennel care at all the vet who took us in made mention on being on her way out the door when we walked in. She stayed with the hurt dog from about 5:45 until 9:30 that night. To be honest I would have expected that from Kennel Care as that is supposed to be t... read more

I am new to the area and went to Kennel Care with my dog for the first time in November. They were highly recommended. The well visit went fine no complaints. Yesterday morning my dog was very sick. He had been up all night retching and had blood in his stool. I called Kennel Care to get him in to be seen at 9:30 in the morning. They said that although he definitely needed to be seen they were too busy to squeeze him in. They suggested I go to emergency which I did. I will never go back to them. If a vet can't see your pet ... read more

I was a customer for 7 years, I had a dog that needed intensive antibiotics interveneously for a week and force feeding . I took my dog in every morning and picked up after work, and paid my bill of $800.00 which was my mortgage payment as I had lost my job, I received a final bill after I was told to bring my dog in for a recheck at no charge for $85.00. I didn't pay it, and later when my dog died, they said * WE CLOSE IN 20 MINUTES BRING CASH AND YOURNO LONGER OUR PATIENT** Most horrible experi... read more

My one year old German Shepherd had a limp in his back leg for close to three weeks. When he stopped eating and just laid in his bed all day, I brought him in. First visit Met with Carol Lind. She seemed very friendly, and was very thorough with her exam. Took X-Rays which she said looked fine, ruling out hip dysplasia (which later turned out to be false because I took him to another two different vets which diagnosed him with minor hip dysplasia. However, I understand symptoms can arise later on in life, so that might... read more
