La la land kind cafe is a cute coffee shop located in the Montrose Collective on westheimer. I went for their grand opening today where all drinks are 50% off. This spot is more of a grab n' go coffee shop unless its a beautiful day when you can enjoy the outdoor seating as there is no seating inside. They specialize in matcha & regular unique iced lattes and their drinks are pretty/insta-worthy. They also have regular and hot lattes as well. I went opening day and am in love with this place already. First off, the cafe is so bright and welcoming and the staff is too. La La Land Kind Cafe is all about spreading kindness and has great social impact (they have programs for foster youth aging out of the system to work to build experience!). Visited on a Sunday to gra a matcha and was a bit disappointed by the flow. As a plus, the drink was amazing. I ordered the Keith Lee matcha. No complaints there. Perfectly balanced and refreshing, and the strawberry was sweet. My issues reside with the overall flow of service. The cashiers were very sweet. However I feel the system itself can be improved. I'm honestly beyond frustrated with La La Land Kind Cafe -- both as a regular customer and a loyal rewards member 1. Gift card mess I purchased a gift card on their website, thinking it was a digital e-gift that would be emailed to a friend. There was no clear warning that it would be a physical card for pickup in Dallas, TX -- which makes absolutely no sense for someone ordering online. I don't live in Texas, and neither does my friend. I was at another La La Land location that had a long line. I called this location to ask if they were busy. The guy on the phone told me no and that they close at 7pm. I arrived at 6:50pm and the door was locked. Walked in as someone walked out and he told me they were no longer taking orders. Why are they closing before the posted hours and why didn't he tell me that when I called? I came in at 6:30am , my order was placed at 6:34 , there was no overnight oats, or chai, only thing they had in the breakfast menu was a empanada. I was the only customer they had, there were 3 employees. Visually the store was not ready to be opened, nothing seemed to be in order, I didn't get my drinks until 6:55am. I hate to complain because the coffee is amazing! But please do better.

I normally go to the lalaland on Shepherd but I tried this place a couple times because it's closer. Unfortunately both times I was disappointed. It's a fun location but not easy for in and out... I would definitely recommend order/paying ahead on the app. This time I ordered my favorite: lavender bloom latte w a cloud. It came with no cloud and then when I took a swig - whoever made the shots didn't get it packed bc it was watery...plus no flavor, no sweetness, like it normally would. Ugh...I was so disappointed. Artificially created simulation - Visited La La Land on Westheimer this morning. Call me old fashioned but disappointed they couldn't make coffee because their coffee grinder was broken. (I bought a croissant and my wife an Americano...which took 10 min to come out) I'd support a business model with less merch and more coffee but regardless, the place was packed.

Great coffee, but we got there at 6:45am, it's now 7:24am and I still have not received my coffee. I had to leave or I would've been late. It's insane how it takes 30 minutes to make 2 coffees. It wasn't even that busy! I didn't get a refund, because i seriously don't have 30 minutes to wait for good coffee. Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to come back, I love this coffee but I can't have it stress me out like this.
