OK for a short stay - but no parking I stayed here for one night while visiting extended family in the area, so probably unlike most guests, it wasn't for catching or arriving from a JFK flight. The hotel is clean, and the breakfast is your basic buffet but good (and better than average coffee). In spite of the hotel's location near the local expressway and a subway line, the room was pretty quiet - no outside, or inside noises. One weird thing was that they must have remodeled the bathroom at some point and changed from a tub/shower to a tub only - but they left the tub spout and shower pull as if there were a tub there, rather than just a shower pan. Not really a problem, but it felt like the bathroom remodel was a little sloppy. The biggest issue for me was that there's no on-site parking so you have to park on the street around the hotel. I was parked in front of what looked like an abandoned lot next door - it felt a little sketchy, but my car was there and fine in the morning. A nice surprise is that you're just a block away from a really big/long boardwalk along the beach, so if you have some free time while you're there, it's definitely worth checking out.

Please also know that Far Rockaway was completely devastated by Hurricane Sandy and many businesses closed never to reopen. Homes had to be lifted and are still under construction. We have a brand new boardwalk and concession restaurants during the Summer with live music! We hope to have another opportunity to serve you.

Ok for what it is I think a lot of guests are there for A JFK flight, so they don’t drive. I happened to stay there on a family visit, so I drove there and, surprisingly the hotel doesn’t have a parking lot. The neighborhood felt a little sketchy for parking on the street. In spite of the hotel’s relative proximity to both a subway and some busy roads, the room was pretty quiet. It’s perfectly fine for an overnight stay, but not a destination.

Good I didnt like that there was no complimentary bottle of water and the coffee brewer was dirty. The simplicity and overall cleanliness.
