very professional and caring
I consulted with Dr. Shamie in April 2017 after I had been diagnosed with Fuchs Dystrophy while undergoing a cataract exam with another doctor. I was immediately put at ease by her demeanor, caring attitude, knowledge of my issue and her surgical record with this problem. I had the first two surgeries, transplant and cataract in my right eye in 2017. The left eye was done in a single surgery in early 2018. Overall, good experience. Optometrist did a very thorough job of explaining the procedure, different lens options and the recovery and follow up. All staff at the office were professional and courteous. The anesthesiologist did not ask me a question or explain her therapy. When placed on the table to have the laser extraction, I was very uncomfortable. I stated twice that I was not comfortable, every one seemed to be busy getting ready but did not hear me. Dr. Maloney and his team were thorough and professional easing any concern I had about my Lasik surgery. He's got a fantastic calm bedside manner, and a good sense of humor, both something necessary for helping you feel at ease. In reading his book I discovered why he's the best in the industry–his attention to detail and archival process of results allows him to record every surgery, in order to give each patient the best possible outcome for their vision. That's not something every surgeon can offer their patients.
