well, it took a very long time, I know Covid didn't help, but there were some communication issues on behalf of both our sides. It seems we had to always come up with another piece of info time after time, after getting everything to you on the list, thinking you have it all, then later, you need something else and later something else, it just went on forever.

- Lack of communication. “Will contact tomorrow” meant 2 weeks later. - 3 emails from 3 different people in one day, while thinking our closing would be in 1-2 days. Several changes to our contact point person. - Closing was changed, and changed, and changed, and changed again. Understandable that this can happen, but we would learn from our realtor, not VDM. - I was eliminated from important emails in the last week before closing. - Unprofessional emails to closing lawyers

In my personal experience, the staff at VanDyk Mortgage was great, for the most part they were on top of everything and replied in a timely manor! They are all very professional and friendly. At the time of waiting for a clear to close I had asked several times/days if it looked like we were going to make the contracted close date and didn’t receive an answer to that specific question till the day before I was supposed to close. That is the only minor issue I had! Other than that it was great!

Very poor communication. We were lead to believe that we could go conventional, get rid of the PMI insurance, get some extra cash. None of these things happened. The only good thing we got was a lower interest rate. It cost alot more to refinance then what we were lead to believe it would cost. It took months before we got to close. Both times we worked with you we had the same experience. I would never recommend VanDyke Mortgage to anyone.

The communication was not clear as a first time home buyer. I asked multiple questions and did not get clear answers in return. The night before signing and closing the next day I received an email telling me to bring money which I was not aware of. I was told to sign the disclosure statement nothing was explained or broken down into terms I would understand as a first time home buyer. I was told to pay off a credit card which I did and sent proof but still had to pay for it again at closing.
