This is a great facility. The marketing director spent a lot of time helping me determine what would be best for my father.
We have been very happy with Martin Crest. One of the primary considerations was location and Martin Crest is close enough to visit Mom every day. It is clean, smells pleasant, and is well appointed. The staff is friendly, kind, and helpful. Mom loves them. Since my mother doesn't have any physical disabilities, the care she gets is more in the nature of just being treated with kindness and respect. this facility is very nice and appealing, a close second to Sterling but we need the locked facility for my Dad's stability and to prevent him from wondering off and getting lost.
Nice, but Alzheimer's / dementia care has shared rooms/bathrooms.
The day aides and med aides were mostly great. The DON of the build was clueless as to what goes on in the memory care unit. My dad was only there a very short time. In that time, he had multiple falls and weight loss. The DON argued with us on these subjects. Staff verified our observations. We actually put him on hospice to have added care. They also verified that on several occasions, they found him on the floor, and the staff was unaware. They also found him of a morning soaking wet and sometimes without clothes on. Seve... read more

This does not appear to be a former resident of Martin Crest. The reason is because so far in 2024, Martin Crest has had only one male in memory care for a short stay. The lone male for 2024 we had in memory care did not have a history of falling because he was mobile and did not need a walker or wheelchair. The specific reason for his move out of our memory care was his family preferred him to have a private room. And at that time, Martin Crest only had companion suites available. This was a nice looking community. I was not however impressed with this community. I did not get a homey feeling when I visited. They did not seem very professional. The rooms were not as nice as the community we chose.
Stopped by the lobby to go to Alzheimer's support group, but it was wrong day. My perception was the population is 'too dependent' and aged. But still I will go back and check all Weatherford facilities due to proximity and convenience!
