No parts support on older versions of the same product Bought printer in 2018. Great product until you need replacement parts especially the LCD screen. Not offered by Brother and if their authorized repair dealers find the part very expensive to fix. I don’t understand how they can offer the same product with no future parts support.
Most reliable printer I've ever owned. Period! I bought this printer, the Brother MFC-J985DW-XL, in the summer of 2018. After three months I was angry at the money I threw at Epson since 1993. Granted the last one, a Workforce 610, was very good. But Epson printers have sever inkmytosis. Brother should have been my go-to for these last 30 years. Best printer for the money I am a fan of Brother products in general. This is my favorite inkjet printer/copier. Good quality. Very inexpensive. Nice features like wireless access, USB port for storing scans when off-line. Saves multiple scanner setups. I bought a second one for my business. Both are still going strong.
Bye bye Brother As advertised, ink furnished with printer lasts a long time, but after three years the color print quality is terrible. I have tried all the maintenance routines several times and ink cartridges are full. Paid $270 for this unit in May 2017 and now it costs over $400! Nice features otherwise. Meanwhile my Brother LaserJet HL-LD2340DW printer also is giving me fits with wi-fi kicking out, deep-sleeping at inopportune times (although I supposedly cut out that feature), and recently with marginal print quality, ... read more
Very good Works great, use it for a home office and one year before we had to replace the original cartridges. Print quality is very good/sufficient for office use but not amazing. I'd look elsewhere if you want the "best" print / photo quality but it will cost you in ink.
very basic home printer had this for about 28 months and never really was impressed. finally got an E9 error that could not be cleared. paper jams were very common even though high quality paper was always used. (it might have been due to low usage? 200 pages/month average is pretty low so maybe it would have behaved better for more intensive use? but who repairs a $130 printer?) Home printer This printer is doing what it is supposed to, working for our needs. Have printed a couple of photos, not a bad print.
It's been amazing for over 2 years. We love it. It's never been a problem. Wifi is solid - it's always available to print on, the scan and copy work great - it's just a great printer.
Nice printer I really like this printer. No issues so far. I think we've been using now for at least 6 months.
