NICE PLACE FOR GREAT VALUE 3 COURSE LUNCH...THE FOOD PRESENTATION, THE QUALITY AND THE SERVICE WERE GREAT... WE WISHED WE LIVED NEARBY SO WE COULD GO OFTEN..
One disappointment: waiter acknowledged my written alert that I follow a gluten-free diet. But then he served me food with bread on it twice (entree & dessert). and no mention or offer on a substitution. In my mind he knew I was gluten-free, but he wasn't going to do anything proactive about it.
had not been back in a while and was very happy we went for dinner
The $29.00 Friday nights is a bargain and everybody knows it. Come early for happy hour the drinks are 1/2 price. My friends were very happy with their food, I was disapointed with the surf & turf ($6.00 extra)The lobster was over cooked and the filet was as order (medium)but very dry, and no sauces in sight. Staff is young and friendly.
small portions, and a bit pricey....but they do a "twist" on some regular items, such as pizza and burgers. the food is great, and they have a SUPERB beer list, along with some great beers on tap. great place for a night out!
This truly a great place to go with your spouse, your family, or friends. If you like the simple things or if you want something more out of the box, well they succeed at both in their menu. I am a beer guy and The Tavern definitely met up to my expectations. They don't have a large choice, but do touch a lot of the styles of beers, from IPAs to Porters (I suggest the Local Blonde) and all of them taste GREAT!!!
The burger was very good, but I wish we had known it came with a free beer before we ordered our wine. The curried caulifower was excellent - and could have used a beer! So we swapped. The Tavern has been steadily improving. Great!!
The prime rib was fantastic! We thought a "tavern" would be a little more downscale in quality, but were happily wrong.
The food was excellent; had the price fixe for lunch which came with a glass of house wine, an excellent value for $26. We each had a second glass of the same wine for $9 a glass, which I thought was a bit pricy for house wine. Otherwise, we sat for over 2 hours and enjoyed outstanding service.
